My mother and stepfather got in that same boat a few years back. Starlink wasn't an option yet so I walked them through setting up ATT mobile service. It's ~$100/month and comes through a Netgear Nighthawk (I think they get 50 down, which is more than enough for the two of them as they have satellite tv and aren't into streaming shows).
The rep set it up at the store so all we had to do was plug it in at their house. I set it up just outside my stepfather's office so he gets good signal (wifi dongle on his desktop) but hid it so he can't turn it off or move it (he has early stage dementia).
When going with a mobile hotspot like that as the primary internet for the home, check VZ, ATT and TMobile to see who has the best coverage for that spot before committing to anything.
