It’s Los Angeles in Texas now.

So many illegals and former California liberal dumbasses! You think Louisiana is bad. Hold your breath for about five more years and find out. At least the housing market is through the roof ala Cali!

Houston and Texas are fricked!

We are out of here in June and moving back to La.

seasonal adjustment

Wha? Seasonal?

My Rachio would delay watering if it new wind speeds that day were going to just blow the sprinkler water everywhere, but where it was supposed to go. You set preferences on if you want watering to happen before sunrise or after sunset, but it knows if you just got an inch of rain dumped on you, and it skips watering.

Rainbird made me want to punch it, repeatedly and often. I ditched it within 6 months, I think.

Another issue creating the deficit is the PFC apartments program that Whit recently killed.

Effectively apartments could provide some level of “affordable” housing on half the units and in turn not pay any property taxes. Turns out the properties don’t really provide much affordability and aren’t really measured on that “affordability” by the COH or the housing authority.

One of the reasons Whit fired everyone but they still passed 13 ish PFCs before they al got fired. Pretty sure there are over 50 of these all over town. Housing authority wanted them to be in nicer parts of town so a number of them are upper Kirby and other nice areas providing no real benefit but a huge cost to tax payers.

Removing these could easily cover this shortfall.

I love living in a tiny city within Houston. Taxes stay with our city and not to die in Houston. But yeah it sucks we get our water from them still.

My HPD cousin claims he makes well into the 6 figures territory. Unlimited OT and he's mostly just parking not doing anything.

You can check the base here, but it doesn't include OT.

I don't doubt that he's not doing much (no offense) because I've been blown by motorcycles doing over 110 on I-10 that nobody pays attention to (I know how fast I was going, and am decent at estimating land speed differential.) Week, after week. In the middle of the week, barely after dark.

Oh, and all the cars with no lights on after dusk. You dummies think you're winning between the Altima you're driving and my 3+ ton Superduty... Ok bro, but Instagram is calling your name.
