Texas is a shitehole. I’m uncertain how it is even a red state anymore bc there’s certainly alot of trash there. Houston and its surrounding areas alone have so many strays in bad shape running the streets and it just gets worse in the RGV. Dallas, Ft. Worth, too. It’s become a 3rd world country.

Inside the loop they turned a bunch of 4 way streets into 2 lane streets with fancy bike lanes. I rarely see anyone using them (and I actually do). I do see a lot of cars hit the barriers on Waugh all the time.

NOLA is broke, but NOLA has no major industry except for tourism
Houston has significant property taxes which stay local, a ton of major employers, massive income coming from the energy, financial, and medical sectors, etc.
If Houston is broke they are being run FAR worse than NOLA is, considering the income Houston is bringing in.
