[/img] New house has a 1,600 bottle cellar (not subtle brag)
What are bottles you wouldn't do without?

What wine do you like? Are you looking to ball out with investment wines?
Wines you can lay up for years and years?

Drive to closest wine production area and ask them what they have that is good, then buy several cases from each winery. If they won't ship, get a uHaul. Let us know your outcome when you get home. Could be a week well spent, depending on where you go.

Darioush and Heitz tend to be my favorite go to to have numorous bottles on hand.
I tend to also stock up on Darioushes Caravan as its the "Lite" flavor version, so that's good for one of those random chilling out bottles by yourself, and not having a meal. At half the price.

Yes to all.
I have ~250 bottles in there now. Everything from $9 tempranillos to Penfolds Grange.
I'd say my drinking is about 60% cabs, 20% Spanish, 20% French (mainly chateauneuf du pape).
I don't really drink whites, but I have a few bottles. I do also want to expand my sparkling/champagne collection.

Left Italy. Right France. Back California.

Do not even consider this is temperatures are extreme (but you know this).

How’s the temperature control and humidification in there?
Posted on 3/24/24 at 8:03 pm to VABuckeye
It has its own unit. Perfect 55.

Find a wine club, we get cases of Bonanza (I know some hate it) for $9.50/bottle, it’ll make filling the cellar a bit easier.

In my regular rotation.
I will say I was not impressed with Martha's Vineyard for the price premium over the regular cab.

I prefer drinking Whites on a regular basis like on weekends, and reds situationally.
Drinking White and Orange are just refreshing and easy to me.
I like it all though.

Looks pretty small and tight. I’d stick to box wines and small bottles.
Hopefully next time a bit bigger
