I wouldn’t call it a dunk… more like a hard arse layup. Dwight Howard was gifted the dunk contest when he did something similar w/his lame “Superman dunk”.

I think he hurt his left hand finger which wasn’t the dunk hand.

Dang, everyone on this board is so miserable. Can’t appreciate anything anymore.

I'm not even a T-Wolves fan, but that dunk was absolutely FILTHY. If people can't appreciate that, they were never actually basketball fans to begin with. Plain and simple. If you love hoop, you love that kind of display from Ant (or anyone).

Except it is, by definition, a dunk.

dont you actually have to touch the rim for it to count as a dunk?

No

That play last night was officially a dunk by the NBA definition of a dunk and counted as a dunk by Ant.

I can tell some of you douche bags never went to the black part of town and caught a pick up game to play in. Those types of dunks are commonplace.

It’s ok, but not worth the hype it’s getting.

No, they are not. I've played pick-up games with college all-americans, a few players with decade long NBA careers, and professional NFL and track stars, I've never seen a dunk like than in any game I've played in.

strange that they're pretty rare in the NBA

Well Winnsboro in the 90s had a dude named Kemo that made real leapers look like handicap people. Dude could rise and then rise some more. Seeing him do that type of dunk on people was commonplace and expected.

I saw a game at Ouachita in the late 90s between Ouachita and Arcadia. Ouachita had Brandon Dean (won the SECT MVP in 2000) and he won the college slam dunk contest. Arcadia had Marcus Fizer, who was a McDonald’s All American and #5 pick in the draft. Brandon Dean made people look foolish on the regular, posterizing people every game and dude was barely 5’10”.

I’m convinced some of the best dunkers in the world are walking around in street clothes and you never even know. There are some real sky walkers out there.

Edwards deserves all the credit in the world for the posterization, but let’s not start pumping this dunk in as top 5 all time…. It’s not.

See this is what I mean… Edwards got a big running start and dunked on a dude. That is not that rare. Why the hype?

NBA defines it as
quote:

A shot thrown downward through the basket, with one or two hands.

So yes that is a dunk.
