The best matches that a lot of guys had would’ve been an average Bret Hart match. Didn’t matter who he was up against, 99% of his matches were solid. It did not matter if it was a Sean Walthman, a Yokozuna, or a Tom Magee. Bret could work with any style, tell a great story, and get a guy over. His work with Owen was awesome. The Austin and Michaels stuff has been mentioned already. If you want to hear a crowd pop go and watch the Calgary Stampede 10 man tag match during the USA vs. Canada feud. Or dig into the archives to the Calgary days and take a peak at a young Bret Hart facing off against Dynamite Kid.

Personally the match of his I’ll go back and rewatch over and over is Summerslam 1992 at Wembley against Davey Boy Smith. Under the circumstances that one shows the brilliance of Bret Hart and how complete of a performer he was when combining the storytelling, in ring psychology, and physicality.
