In a system where persons have a protected right to political speech; and corporations, which exist solely as wealth generating entities, are recognized as persons; and money equals speech, it only follows that persons with more money have more speech, and persons with less money have less speech. An entity that exists solely to make money is generally going to have more speech than an individual.

Politicians are only giving the persons what they’re asking for.
