If you haven’t seen tape of jakheem Stewart yet, I’m telling you: Watch this ASAP. Wow.

Sophomore year(!) highlights.
For those who don’t know him, jakheem Stewart is a sophomore (rising junior) DT at St Aug, and is the early #1 overall recruit, nationally (#1 on on3, #4 on 247, #1 on rivals, #1 composite/industry). And boy is it easy to see why he’s at the head of his class.
Something I will mention, since I’m a big nerd who spends too much time following this stuff: Typically, prospects at positions like OL and IDL - especially the ones who have prototypical size at a young age - see big jumps in athleticism from the time they’re HS underclassmen to the time they get to college that really any other positions. When you’re dealing with kids in that 270+ range, it generally takes some serious training and physical maturity before the explosiveness and movement skills catch up to the size. Often, there’s still a lot left in the tank even after they get to college. This was the case with Maason smith, for example - and unfortunately we only really got to see the fully-formed version for a small handful of snaps on the opening drive of the 2022 season.
Anyway, all of this is to say that it is NOT NORMAL, even among the best prospects, to see a 270lb 16yr old move the way Stewart does in those highlights. Go compare this tape to maason smiths sophomore year tape - it’s no contest. That type of physical ability is, like, once-every-few-years type stuff. Walter nolen, for example, was ridiculously hyped as a recruit, and, to be quite honest, I don’t remember him looking THIS explosive. The last guy I can remember who had prototype size AND elite movement skills might be, like, myles Garrett or someone - and even that is sort of cheating, given that he’s a DE.
Anyway - go watch. This kid is ridiculous. And the numbers (20 sacks and I believe 33 TFL as a sophomore in the catholic league) match. This is a 1.1 type player.

So do we think this kid is a take?

Man among boys is not a misnomer here.

That much speed and power for a soph DL is insane. That is a game changing DL prospect. He's a Fournette type player when you watch film. Man among boys.

Looks like an NFL edge player already not a fat slob DL that "clogs" up the middle.

Doesn't look like he's reached his potential in quickness.

That’s what I expect a #1 overall recruit to look like. That’s a full grown man out there

I'm sure Frank and Bo will put on the full court press, but with that type of talent there are going to be a lot of bags thrown his way.

The purple and gold looks great on him.

Anyone with eyes doesn't need to watch more than a couple of clips to conclude that this kid is extraordinarily talented.

“Only about 20 offers. Sacks don’t impress me I need to see his 40 time. Not a ton of explosion off the line in this highlight. Decent depth piece but not much more than that IMO”

He has mastered the pick-up tackle for when we play UGA in 3 years in NC game!
