Wrong board. But this term isn't new or unique.

A work husband is a coworker you're really close to.
While this is usually a platonic relationship, it's extremely close and loyal in a way that work friendships typically aren't. The two of you are very close in a lot of the ways you would be with a spouse (in that you support each other, offer advice, etc.), but there's no romance or physical intimacy.

A term used by women in the workplace about the unattractive and/or obese dude she gets along with at the office.

If he’s cooler and more powerful / successful than the actual husband it’s not a good thing. But imo most work husbands seem to be very beta.
Best advice to the actual husband would be do NOT show any jealousy. Make friends with the work husband. Find a common interest or two and earn yourself an important ally.

That’s what she wants you to believe!
Work husbands get the made up and dressed up version.
Home husbands get the plain, honey due list carrying, emotional drama, reality.

Basically a term that has been used for more than a decade at least in places where males and females work together.
