It's a traditional move but I'm not sure it works here.

Add a foreseeable attack on troops by an entity only loved by Democrats and fringe leftists (Hamas) to Biden's horrific record on Afghan withdrawal - seems like a political nightmare.

The US public isn't clamoring for involvement in Gaza, this is pure appeasement of the hardcore base, just like the immigration inaction is and just like the trans agenda stuff is.

Ultimately if Biden loses it's probably not because he's that bad of a candidate (in theory) or because America really wants Trump, it's because he keeps getting into situations where he caters to the radicals for 2 years and tries to messily clean it up with a more mainstream Democratic move/rhetoric (and which ultimately fails).

And Biden gets his wet dream of a war to help support his re-election bid. I think it will backfire as many voters will hold those deaths against him for sending US troops there in the first place.
