How much would we have won by with normal refs?

We were easily the better team and IMO the way we played we would have won by 10-15 with a normal called game.
Its amazing how Birmingham won't let win the conference.

They have beaten us like 14 straight times or something.
They are the more complete team.
But Mulkey has us nipping at them and will eventually break through the wall.
At that point, Dawn will be Dusk as the sun sets on South Carolina.

If there's anything I've learned from watching both men's and women's college basketball, watching college football, watching college baseball and softball, it's this:
THOSE WERE NORMAL REFS.
They're all fricking terrible.

That's a stretch.

Do you think so? Do you think officiating accounted for a 17 to 22-point swing? I think LSU could have won it with better officiating, sure, but I don't see a 17-point swing unless LSU also cleans up their passing as well. Too many turnovers and too many poor shot selections.
These are two telling stats.
Turnovers LSU-17, SC-13
FGs LSU-25/67 for 37.3%, SC-28/65 for 43.1
Here are a couple of surprising stats to me
Fouls LSU-15, SC-16 This seemed like it would have been a bit different based on the calls that were missed on SC.
Rebounds: LSU dominated here, particularly on the offensive glass.
Off LSU-17, SC-11
Def LSU-27, SC-26
Total LSU-44, SC-37

Someone else posted Reese averages 8 free throw attempts a game for the season, but she only had 3 total in 2 games against SC. It is not at all a stretch to say we win if the officials call even half of the fouls that they should have.

We played like shite. Way too many turnovers and missed layups.

Here is something to think about from your stats: 1) How many of those turnovers could have been fouls called on SC? If even 3 are fouls, that’s 3 more possessions and maybe 3 more points for us and 3 less for them. That’s a 6 point swing. 2) How many missed fouls were there on our shots? I would say easily 4 or 5. That’s another 6 points we probably score based on averages. Plus our FG % goes to maybe 27/65 for 41.5% and a couple more free throws. That would also make the score around 81-76 for us. That’s without including the momentum swing for us. That being said, it’s over. Let’s get ready for the tournament, use the momentum we have been building lately, and hopefully we can play them in the finals with better calls and spank that booty!

The officiating was a little one sided but LSU had far too many careless turnovers.

Some were but there were a lot of ill-advised shots taken and a lot of really bad passes again. Some right to SC players.

FTR I do think LSU probably wins if the game is properly called, I just don't think it is a double-digit win. I think the two teams are fairly evenly matched. I think LSU's top players are better than SCs and I think SCs bench is better and much deeper than LSU's. That is why I think it will usually be a close game whenever they play. If there is a blowout, it will be because one team loses a key player to injury or foul trouble or the team loses their composure.

If we shoot 4 less air ball layups, we win. Or even 4 less layups that hit the underside of the backboard.
It was a pathetic display.

Careful. Speaking truth like that may result in you getting asked to sign up to officiate, lol.

The team would have won if it hadn't gone cold for a period of time in the second half. It wasn't the refs. It's 100% in the control of this team whether they win it all.

Missed layups and points off of turnovers lost the game. Turnovers didn’t seem too lopsided, but they were in open space and SC outmatched LSU guards for easy points.

We easily win that game with even mildly competent refs that weren’t corrupt. Make no mistake about it, the gump refs had their marching orders. Birmingham will try its hardest to prevent us from having success.

Lack of depth gonna hurt in tournament

Last year they were clearly better than us and had we played them in the finals and not Iowa IMHO we would have lost and likely lost handily.
We played toe-to-toe with them twice this year - I think our starting five can match up with theirs all day long - where they have us is depth and the style they play which requires physicality will lead to fouls and that's where the depth comes in, we don't have as many gals to bring in when we get in foul trouble as they do.
Would like to have the gal who got hurt early in the year and would have been nice to have Poe this last game but we don't so have to find a way to adapt and overcome that one thing.

At that point, Dawn will be Dusk as the sun sets on South Carolina.
Oh, they'll still be a top 3 team in the country every year, but it ain't gonna be cake in the SEC like it was for her....she knew it too.
