I don't know what magazine convinced them it was cool, but it sucks. My suspicion, based on paying attention, is that is allows women to pull their belts very tight well above their waists (near rib level) to accentuate their hips. Fine.

But way, way, too many middle aged women don't bother with trying to make it look good for their bodies. No belt, too loose, yada yada. It's great to be a dude and just wear a suit that isn't too loose.
