Watching now. I have to say that opening montage is great!
I can just imagine the local cops looking for some out of town kid named Stanicky for the better part of a decade and never catching him.

It was good. It's not deep, but it's good for more than a few laughs. John Cena can be pretty damn funny when he wants to be.
ETA: One thing about this movie that I found unintentionally hilarious was the obvious DEI roles. They were just minor characters, but there were TWO dwarfs (one in a wheelchair) and the gay boyfriend of one of the main characters had to use those arm crutch things.

So it’s woke bc it looks like real life? You forgot a mixed race marriage in your woke list. Also I saw only one little person. You must have really looked hard to make hay over that.
The bottom line the movie is not woke and as the OP astutely noted it looks like society. Which looks lots of ways on different days. I hate woke shite but guys that seek out ways to inject it like that are a bigger issue.

No.

I sure thought at times it tried to be and so did my GF.
Thought it had potential but failed. I felt Cena’s stage character was embarrassing and lewd. Why couldn’t he have just been a bad impersonator?
This movie, like most of Cena’s movies, was goofy and not very funny. But to each his own

No...
I don't think the movie is woke, but Amazon does have a DEI policy in place about using underrepresented characters in their films. This is an Amazon film.
I thought they did it in kind of a hilariously frick you way to the whole concept. And Effron's wife/girlfriend was an absolute smoke show. No problem there at all.
As for the two dwarves. One was at the guy's company. She was at the board meeting sitting next to Macy. The other was one of the owners or executives at the company they are going to merge with...the one that belly laughs at the dogs fricking missionary. I thought they were the same person, but in the next shot you can see them both next to each other.

Thanks for your riveting thoughtful response. I guess you live somewhere I’ve never been. It looks like the folks I see every day in Houston. But if y’all want to label this woke and discuss that as nauseum like yall do everything else go right on ahead. People see what they want and assign their own labels. It’s a free world. Label as you see fit. I enjoyed the movie. I guess skin color and gender and size didn’t really matter as much to me as they do to some. It’s this diversity of opinions that also mirrors society. But again maybe you live someplace different lol.

It's a Peter Farrelly film ... he's hardly woke.

You live in a bubble. None of this is actually common as an overall percentage.

Dude, you have lost the fricking plot. I don't care if a movie is woke or not -- if it's a good movie. If they had Brad Williams as one of the friends -- because he's Santino's real life friend -- I wouldn't have blinked an eye because he's fricking hilarious. Hell, this movie would have been better with him in it.
My point was the obvious shoehorning of actors that checked boxes in order to get past Amazon's ridiculous casting policy.
I LIKED the movie.
But I found myself laughing at the thought of the DEI rep meeting with Farrely and the casting director.
DEI: Great job with casting two African Americans as leads and positively representing the LGBT community but...we still need to diversify a little more.
Farrely to casting director: Ok, get a cripple to play the boyfriend and...I don't know...get me two dwarves and make sure one is hispanic.
Farrely to DEI: Good?
DEI: Perfect!
It was the sheer obviousness that made me laugh. I don't give a frick who plays a throwaway character in a movie. All three characters were literally irrelevant to the thin arse plot.

Back to the actual movie:
This really reminded me of a movie that would have been made 10-15 years ago starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. And given that it's a Farrely brother, I guess that makes sense.
It's raunchy, lampoons everyone and doesn't take itself too seriously.
I give it a 7/10 because it didn't really stick the landing and no boobs.
But it's a solid film that will make you laugh.
What more can you ask for?

i said the same thing about Halo. They cast a blind albino gay black man and put them all in one single character. I liked the character just fine and he went out like a boss.
but it's funny when you notice they just checked all the boxes.i won't use the word "woke" but it's checkboxes. if it's a capable actor, i roll my eyes and move on.

I go to H-town all the time and don’t recall seeing a midget in a wheelchair.

I was gonna say....
The frick that dude live where he sees two dwarfs “everyday”
I’ve maybe seen 2 in my life

First two acts were good, the third act didn’t really stick the landing

Air-dicking alone was worth the watch.

The straight, white couple even checked a DEI box. They were Jewish.
The only box I didn’t see being checked was the Tranny box.
But back to the movie. We thought it was funny. Just a goofy movie that you can sit back and have a few laughs.
