What I'd like to see out of Zion offensively from this point forward...for this season...

---20-22 PPG
---10 or more rebounds per game
---10 or more assists per game

Think they call that a triple double. Should be fairly easy to do this...if we can just get JV to pitch in and get out of the way & let Zion have some of those uncontested rebounds.(Think of Adams at OKC with Westbrook)

This would be a "Zion" that makes everybody else on his team...better...plus... Zion should get a lot of positive ink when he starts ringing up those triple doubles every night. Win/win...for Zion & the rest of the team.

You say something like this and want people to take you seriously? Averaging a 20 point triple double is easy?? Tell Val to stop rebounding so Zion get a triple double? Val’s on the last year of his contract, do you honestly think he’d be OK with this? GTFOH with that nonsense. You’re not this bad at trolling so it sounds you’re being serious.

Main purpose is to get Zion to max his value as a player. He's just another pretty face at the moment...whether folks here understand that or not. Gonna have to make some major changes to his game in order to come anywhere close to reaching his potential.

The key...is getting Zion to the point he makes other players better...which means...looking to get a bunch of assists which will make his inside offensive game easier and more effective...in addition to making life much easier for the other players on his team. This is fairly simple...and I'm sure the Pels are trying to get Zion headed in this direction.

Just curious..how many NBA players do you think there are...who could get a 20-pt triple double any night they really decide they want to do so? Especially if they have the blessing of their team to do so.

Hint: The ONLY problem is the rebounds...which can be easily "worked around" by any team that wants to help their guy get 10 rebounds...on any given night.

He does need to improve his rebounding but not at the expense of telling your Center to get out of the way haha. This isn't college, style points do not matter whatsoever.

My main purpose is to maximize the value of the entire roster and win, win, win.

No problem with that...I just think that Zion will determine how far this team goes...BI is a fine player but I think we've figured out just what other teams think of him by now. Gotta figure out a way to make Zion grow up...take the game seriously...and develope his potential. Or...just go another direction...decision day can not be that far off...one way or the other.

I agree, I also think the Pelicans should just go 21-0 for the rest of the regular season and that I should win the lottery at least twice before LSU wins the NCAA tournament and the Saints win the Super Bowl next year.

Not enough rebounds to go around when you have a center like JV

I’d prefer him work on his jumper so we don’t have to just iso or pick and roll him

If he could develop a mid range jump shot he’d be unstoppable

So having Zion “grow up” would be helped by asking his teammates to get out of the way so he can get rebounds to pad his stats?? Good lord, how do people come up with this?

Actually, the 10 assists would be the most important thing. His scoring would naturally become more efficient if he had 10 assists per game. Path to the basket would be wide open relatively speaking. Doubt there's any way to get Zion to become an aggressive rebounder...so maybe giving him a target of 10 per night to get a triple double MIGHT spur him on a bit...in that area. His current rebounding pretty much sux.

I'm not saying we should go "Full Russell Westbrook" to try & create a phony triple double every other game for Zion. There's a bunch of uncontested rebounds in every game...so just maybe on some of those where either of 2 or 3 Pels coulda easily picked up the trash rebound...give it to Zion...no big deal.

Anybody that watches a game should be able to spot the "trash rebounds"...there's quite a few of those during every game...some of our players pursue those with a passion to pad their rebounding stats...while some others, allow their teammate to go ahead & pick up the trash, when they could just as easily have snapped it up. Happens quite often.
