I totally missed it because I had to answer a work call. Can anybody summarize?
I heard Moscona's reaction and he sounded like he was in the throes of orgasmic ecstasy.

He was probably just thinking about how he’s friends with the Ryans, Theriot and Clark.

- 5 year timeline but hope to be done in 4
- private developer who will own the arena. LSU would enter 30 year lease to own agreement
- current PMAC would be retained for practice facility/sports admin space
-On days LSU didn’t host sporting events, new arena would serve as entertainment venue
- River center to become convention center with non-compete clause to new area
- all revenue generated from LSU related events would be kept by LSU
- Scouting multiple locations. Across from The Box by the golf course seems to be in 1st place right now

moscona’s interview
It's worse than what I expected.
LSU only will pick the low bid.
LSU isn't even picking the site. I guess maybe they shouldn't, they won't be paying for it and won't own it.
1. Teams won't even be able to practice in it.
2. LSU won't even own it - a developer will.
3. insanity sets in by eliminating the track facility
4. developer will select a site no where near the pmac
5. LSU will only be allowed to have games in the new arena.(approximately will have exclusive use 60-70 days per year)
6. Moscona couldn't ask the tough question. Are you getting input from any of the coaches?
7. I got a bridge I want to sell to these motherfrickers.
ETA: ITS A CONCERT HALL WITH REMOVABLE BASKETBALL GOALS...LMAO

This sounds like Tulane when used the Superdome, not even on campus? Am I missing something or misreading reading? If not...Yuck

Just listened to the interview w/ Keli Zinn (COO):
1. Zinn confirms that it’s very realistic that you’ll see a new PMAC in the near future.
2. Next step in the process occurs on March 13th when the metro-city council votes on the city ordinance that would essentially guarantee that all large events would take place at this new LSU arena.
3. If the ordinance passes, they’re ready to release the RFP immediately. Everything is basically ready to go. The developer would then build, own, and manage this new arena.
4. Numerous ‘highest and best use’ studies have been conducted by LSU, BRAF, etc. on the PMAC and River Center. A big reason for the ordinance is that they recognize that the River Center may be better served to host conferences and conventions, with a HQ hotel attached.
5. New arena will be in the area of $350MM - $400MM. They hope to have it complete in the next 5 years.
6. The developers would pay for the arena where they’d collect all non-LSU event revenue for approx 30 years. LSU would retain all revenue for LSU ticketed events including parking, concessions, sponsorships, etc.
7. They’re in the process of determining an exact location for the new arena. The PMAC will be kept and will be used for practice, operational support, etc.

There is some waaay bigger picture thinking going on here involved with this than lsu has ever had.
Can’t wait for this to become a reality.
Game changer.

Some of you are serious suckers. When people talk about the 'bad deals' Louisiana 'leadership' gets us into and wonder how could they ever do such a thing, well, this is it, and many of you are cheering for it. This is a LOT bigger deal for the private developer than LSU, but yeah, just go ahead and support that...
