He told jokes that apparently you're not supposed to laugh at anymore.

MSM has attacked him in articles..calling it "his controversial monologue". Even writing, "He’s also made regular appearance on Joe Rogan’s controversial podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

YouTube

I remember when SNL was avant-garde and audiences howled.

He was extremely PG on SNL I thought.

If you want a true measure of how his monologue was look over his shoulders. The two black dudes were chuckling under their breath because they knew it was inappropriate but funny. The two white people over his other shoulder were just disgusted that he was there to begin with.

I ask myself if I want a world with Shane Gillis or Hannah Gadsby as headliners and do everything possible to make the former happen.

Shane owes no apologies. SNL asked him to host. The monologue was very tame, and the “controversial material” wasn’t done during rehearsal, but was cleared by the higher ups who obviously like Shane because they’re not gay arse journalists.

Well his monologue succeeded in that because it wasn't funny.

Can you guys stop finding shite to get mad about? Literally everyone I know likes him and it’s people with a wide variety of political views. You can find dumb articles about anything and you’re just taking the bait. You’re seeking out the fringes and then getting mad about what you find.

I’m sure you want to call everyone snowflakes but you can’t handle something you like being called “controversial”.

Can we quit pretending anyone is “cancelling” comedians for telling fart and dick jokes? Name one comedian who has been effectively cancelled or relegated from the spotlight. I’ll wait.

All I know is that when I started watching your clip I tried to figure out why they had a little kid playing guitar on SNL.

Apparently that's Maddie Rice, and she's at least 30 years old. Which led me down a rabbit hole of this video where she gives advice during an interview:

Facebook video, FYI

She looks VERY young in that video.

It's okay, not great. He's capable of way better jokes, but he's not meant to be PG.
