The GOP hypocrites are trying to avoid becoming the next targets of Biden's DoJ.
Memo to the hypocrites: "Joe likes you and will jail you last."
Can someone please grow some gahones, and get behind this woman!
Gaetz?
Hawley?
Ted Cruz?
Rand Paul?
Tim Scott?
JD Vance?
James Comer?
Mike Johnson?
Adam Banks?
Clay Higgins?
Elise Stefanik?
Jim Jordan?
Where are you guys?

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), the lone lawmaker seeking judicial fairness for suspects in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots, criticized her colleagues for failing to back legislative reforms to block “political prosecutions.
quote:
On Wednesday, during a driving rain shower, Greene announced that she was reintroducing legislation to reform how defendants arrested in political protests are handled. She has charged that non-violent Jan. 6 suspects and those found guilty of a range of riot-related charges have faced overly harsh sentences and jail conditions.
quote:
The legislation is a copy of a bill introduced in 2022 by former Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-TX). A key element of both would allow a change of venue to move trials out of Washington, D.C., where over 90% vote Democrat and support the prosecution of riot suspects
quote:
Greene noted that while Republicans have assailed the findings of the Democratic House Jan. 6 investigation, they have failed to back her legislation. “I’m just so frustrated here. You know, last Congress, I called it the ‘House of hypocrites.’ And I think the name still applies,” she told us.

That's great, Marjorie, but why did you support McCarthy for Speaker? He didn't release that video, that would help at a time like this. And you, and everyone else, knew that he wouldn't release it because he's Pelosi Light.
It's really hard for me to take her seriously.

Take her seriously, or don't. She's not wrong.

It is why she get's press. They know she is a media whore and provide her story lines they choose which generally shows the GOP in a bad light.

This is why I never give $ to the GOP. As a party, they're useless.

MTG bringing attention to J6 political prisoners is needed and if other R politicians don't get on board they should be turfed out in their next reelection campaign.

It’s strange that she is the only one that ever speaks out about this. They are afraid of someone or all in on it. You would think the arrest of the Blaze reporter would be prime campaign ammunition for the GOP, but not a peep.

I read that about six more people were charged for the first time last week. Have we abandoned the claim that this was done by Antifa and BLM members disguised as MAGA? What about the claim that they were undercover federal agents?
The vast majority of those charged seem to plead guilty. Obviously a lot of crimes were being committed that day. Knowing that should we advocate that those charges be dropped? I don’t get the sympathy for the J6 LARP’ers.

Because they are prosecuted in DC and have ZERO chance at a fair trial. They are prosecuting journalists who should have immunity.

Are you suggesting the vast majority of people in prisons across the US are people who plead guilty because they didn’t think they would get a fair trial or is this unique to J6 defendants?

At this point just about everyone with a cell phone has some sort of claim to be a journalist or social influencer.

They just need to hold out until January 2025 . If Trump does not pardon them on the first day along with Derek Chavan be highly disappointed.

The GOP doesn’t want their base empowered to feel like they can threaten their power via force anymore than the DNC legislators do.
The support for J6 prosecutions is bipartisan because everyone in DC wants them punished as a warning to anyone else who would dare threaten their collective power.
The DC district is roughly 90% DNC from a voting perspective. It’s not reasonable to think that Trump supporters are going to get a fair trial in a district where 90% of the potential jurists view them as white nationalist racists.
To suggest otherwise is akin to thinking a black person in 1920 Jim Crow era Alabama would get the same honest trial as a white person.
The man being charged is an accredited journalist, not someone with a cell phone broadcasting to 20 followers on YT.
Discounting freedom of the press is a sure indicator of a willingness to discount freedom, justice and democracy because without honest and impartial facts none of the other items can exist.
You cannot vote effectively without first being objectively informed as to what the details of the topics being determined are.
You cannot be just if you are only hearing one side of the story.
You cannot be free if you aren’t free to know the truth.
I’d argue that half of the cultural divide we are experiencing is directly downstream of the press being owned by corporate and IC interests that use them merely as propaganda arms rather than for objective fact based reporting.
When they went away from news in favor of rhetoric, opinion and spin we began our drift away from a cohesive union because if the two sides are operating with a fundamentally different understanding of the problem they will never find any sort of reasonable compromise as to the solutions required to solve them.

Contrast that to Dems raising bail money for the summer of 2020 rioters and you see Dems are playing hardball while many Republicans are playing badminton.

Steve Baker is a well known journalist. He’s not even right wing.

Chavan was in the wrong place at the wrong time, he will die in prison, unfortunately.

I fricking hate the GOP. They do nothing because they are all scared to get called a racist. Them not backing the people put in jail for Jan 6, with no charges against them, showed me all I need to know about who they really are.
It’s a pathetic party and needs to be gutted and what pisses me off worse is I have to vote for them so the crazy leftist Dems don’t take over.
It’s very demoralizing.

No they pretend to be feckless because they’d rather be thought feckless than complicit.
Don’t get me wrong, some of them (Jeff Flake comes to mind) are “don’t know how to win” beta types, but many of them are just paid actors working on behalf of special interests who just want compliant DC supporting politicians but who know open democrats wouldn’t get elected in a red district.

Big Don is going to pardon them all. Then he's going to do a lobotomy on the Justice Dept
