To turn that around, what would the state of Georgia be able to do (within existing state law) to fix that issue?

Who is this crowd? Georgia’s not a blue state. 12,000 votes.

Change electronic vote-counting equipment vendors and make mail-in voting a per case condition.

Voter ID if not already in place.
Purge their voting roles
Actually monitor about 3 counties during elections.
Ban mail in voting.

The question for that crowd is, "Why isn't Shamu the governor?"

Georgia isn't a blue state. It's a right-of-center state that hates Trump and his hand-picked candidates. Last year, Buck Sexton and Clay Travis had an hour-long segment where they took calls from Georgia voters and they got call after call from people who said they know several people who voted for every Republican on the ballot in 2022 except Walker. These people are Republicans but didn't like that Walker was Trump's boy and are sick of Trump's schtick. Walker was the only state-wide Republican who lost in 2022. In 2020 there were over 150k people who voted for at least 1 Republican on the ballot but not Trump, and after Trump injected himself into the runoff and surrounding himself with the Kraken BS, Independents who typically vote Republican stayed home or voted for Warnock and Ossoff, as they essentially saw Trump being on the ballot.

Heck, in 2016 Trump got under 51% of the vote in Georgia. Trump underperformed Johnny Isakson, who was in poor health, by 77,000 votes in the big 4 counties (Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett).

Stop running out the likes of Hershel Walker, and continue finding ways to legally suppress voter participation.

I'll add that the disconnect between the republican party and young voters in GA is massive. Additionally, and somewhat related to that, is the abortion law. That law alone will keep GA blue in 2024.

In Georgia, there is a lot of trickery and trickery in and around Atlanta. It’s that simple.

It’s not as “blue” as outsiders think.

Put a wall around Fulton, Clayton, Dekalb and Henry Counties and declare they are no longer part of Georgia.

Georgia will go red in 2024, they may hate Trump but won’t vote for Biden again.

The Killing of the UGA student will be an election day talking point.

My guess is they need to somehow clean up the corruption at least somewhat in Atlanta and they also need to improve their appeal to the suburban housewives around Atlanta. I believe that's where they lost the last couple of elections for the most part
