Oh shite, has anyone watched this 4 part series on Netflix?

When journalist Danny Casolaro was found dead in a hotel bathtub, police ruled it a suicide. But his family and colleagues believe he may have been murdered for investigating a conspiracy he called “The Octopus” - a hidden organization connected to stolen government spy software, a string of unsolved murders, and some of the biggest political scandals of the 20th century. Years later, researcher Christian Hansen pushes to uncover the secrets behind Casolaro’s death, and the story that killed him. From Stardust Frames, Duplass Brothers Productions, and director Zachary Treitz - this four part docuseries untangles a mystery decades in the making.

I just realized it dropped yesterday.. I'm sure not many have had a chance to see it yet.
I enjoyed it for what it was.

George HW Bush was a bad MF when he was running the CIA

Yes, this is a famous case for people who are True Crime fans. I first saw it in the 1990's on Unsolved Mysteries (GOAT TV show of all time).

Another UM episode was done as a follow-up. There was a guy who was investigating the Casolaro case and he asked UM to tell his story. He said that he woke up one night to Cops across the street investigating a murder. A guy took a bullet behind his left ear as he sat in his car (no robbery, nothing missing, just a small caliber bullet to the ear). The guy was driving a car very similar to the car this reporter drove and the reporter believes the hitman was trying to kill him and instead killed an innocent man across the street.

The best part was the footage of the old guy giving a deposition. Dude looked like he was ready the slit everybody’s throat and destroy the tape.
Spoiler: At the end when talked about how his story ended and they was laughing was best part of the entire thing

Watching now, Wackenhut used to be the security company that patrolled our corporation headquarters where I used to work in Illinois. We used to make fun of them being like mall cops, guess I should have been more wary of them, didn’t know they were all connected to the CIA.

There’s a lot of stuff than be dismissed because the crazy guy was all over the place.
But, why would the DOJ seal the files on a “random” suicide?
A lot of wild shite was happening that they stumbled upon but the depressing part is nothing can be about it.

The two creators did a two-part interview/in depth discussion on the project on True Anon podcast. I didn’t care for them but the story itself is very compelling. People need to know about Danny Casolaro and Gary Webb.

We just finished episode 2.
The justice department contracting inslaw then not paying them, then stealing their technology was so dirty. Then the judge that ruled against the DOJ in the inslaw case getting replaced by the attorney that was defending the DOJ in the inslaw case is WILD.
Never knew about any of this.

Same. Although doing a Google search a lot of people online said the driver shot him and the film was edited for the public

I randomly started watching this yesterday. Finished 3 of the 4 episodes. I am surprised this didn’t get more interest with this board with how deeply it trades in conspiracies. The main documentarian guy is kind of a dipshit but otherwise it is entertaining from what I’ve watched.

I find it really hard to believe Jackie or anyone else in the car wouldn’t know if the driver shot him

Well if they can kill a sitting President in plain sight, they can certainly kill someone in their hotel room.
