The crispy USAF guy as we know, was a communist, but in the Air Force he was

USAF airman who lit himself on fire, winning praise from Hamas and Iran, was cyber defense ops specialist with 531st Intelligence Squadron, assigned to 70th Intelligence, Surveillance & Recon Wing at Fort Meade, Maryland.
This is fuking scary that our gov't is ok with this in intel area. Despite being in IT, I was refused any clearance in the navy years ago for a motorcyle/police incident that happened 10 years prior, but this is ok?
Guy got a security clearance. It's incredible.

When I enlisted in the Army in 1991, I was asked two very specific questions:
1. Was I a homosexual?
2. Was I then or had I ever been a member of the Communist Party?
A ‘yes’ answer to either question was an immediate and automatic bar to enlistment.

It’s utterly absurd and terrifying.
It also makes one consider that maybe he could’ve soothed his indignation by trying to offer intel to our enemies. Instead, he willingly chose to die an agonizing death.
