Most voters in South Carolina’s Republican primary do not have four-year college degrees, and about 7 in 10 of them voted for Trump. Haley did better among Republicans with four-year degrees, with support from just over half of those voters.

quote:

Trump garnered more support among those with lower family incomes in the South Carolina Republican primary, according to exit polls. He had the support of roughly 7 in 10 voters with incomes of less than $50,000, compared with about 6 in 10 of those with incomes between $50,000 and $99,999. Haley did best among Republican voters in the state with incomes of $100,000 or more, roughly splitting that group with Trump.

The term educated doesn’t mean what it used to mean.

the latest definition of "educated" is "indoctrinated".

are you proposing there be an education and minimum income requirement to vote?

does this mean Haley really won?

what point are you trying to make?

So you're saying that the people feeling the Biden economy the most don't like it? That's a shocker.

maybe you should have to be a property owner to vote?

i will offer that as a compromise.

shouldn't you have some skin in the game to vote for policy makers?

I always get a kick out of the left's duplicity on this front.

They attempt to sanctimoniously argue they represent the poor and uneducated while arguing their opponent is only supported by the poor and uneducated.

How f'ing arrogant is that?

A very dark, dispiriting headline.

And Trump voters remain poor and uneducated. Look at rural Ohio, and Appalachia. Not only is there rampant poverty in this region which went overwhelmingly for Trump in previous elections, there's a pandemic of drug use, morbidity and mortality far exceeding the COVID #'s in 2020-21 in that region.

College educated could mean degrees in gender studies and basket weaving.

I’d put my money on an auto mechanic, plumber or HVAC tech being smarter.

The poorly educated love Trump. We better be glad they do. If we lose the poor whites vote the country is done.

I’ve worked with “higher educated” people for years now and it isn’t the flex that piece would try and make it seem.

Less than 40% of adults in the US have a college degree. Seems like it would be smart to have overwhelming support from a group that makes up more than 60% of voting eligible people in the US.

But durrrr stupid people like Trump. Love how elitists think having a piece of paper from an indoctrination camp makes you smart.
