168 3-point attempts.
211-186
Fans in stands just twittering and Instagraming.
Is it still a legit sport? Or just Disco entertainment?

a. The All Star game has been a pure exhibition since the 80s/90s
b. The players are more rational and intelligent today and are focused on avoiding injuries/wear to save themselves for real games.
Better than 168 2-point attempts

They didn't play defense in the 1998 All-Star game, either.
The whole game is on Youtube

The turning point was the Magic Johnson aids all-star game in 1992. He announced the aids in November 1991. He played in a comeback in the 1992 all-star game and the others players were afraid of getting aids and or didn't play defense against him because it was all about Magic and letting him score. Since then the NBA all-star game has become a joke.
It was awesome to watch in the 70s-80s and until 1992 as players cared about who won.

you're asking about a sport based on its all star game?

Just like most games. No defense.

Yes they did… the games in the 80’s and 90’s were way more like an actual game than that crap we saw last night.

All the players today want yo be buddies with each other. That crap didn’t fly in the 80’s and 90’s.

I feel lucky to have grown up in the 80s and witness "hatred" basketball Celtics-Lakers, Magic Bird, and the ascension of Michael Jordan, Bulls-Pistons back alley fights. Players cared...they weren't just entertainers like the Globetrotters. It was a real sport.
