Is food disappointing outside of La?

I’m not a well traveled fella. Been to Africa for work, hit Mexico and South America a few times. Been to maybe 20 states. I never spent enough time in a place to really get into the food culture.
For you guys that travel a lot or have lived in numerous places, what’s your opinion on food outside of Louisiana?

The majority of the world believes that only Louisiana cooks good food.

IMO, yes.
LA seafood is GOAT.
TX BBQ is one exception. It's awesome.

I don't eat Louisiana food very far from the Louisiana coast. I don't eat Louisiana food in North Louisiana. My only rule.

One can find good food in any city in the U.S. but on a per capita basis Louisiana has to be at the top. Other continents have a legitimate argument as being superior but I don’t think it’s much of a question within the United States.

The food in France is exceptional.
The food in Ireland is not as bad as people say. The fresh salmon tastes like butter.
So, it’s not disappointing elsewhere just different.

I’d also like to nominate the original Gus’s fried chicken in Memphis for exception status.

Haven’t explored much of Europe, but the cuisine in Southeast Asia was incredible. I still think about some of the dishes I had while there.

Yes. Louisiana is the only place in the entire world that has good food.
What an idiotic question.
Yes, Louisiana/Cajun/Creole cuisine is fantastic. But there is amazing food all over the country and all over the world.
How sheltered and small minded do you have to be to even entertain this type of question.
And as much as I love my native cuisine, the best meals I’ve ever had were outside of Louisiana

Texas food > Bunkie, Louisiana food

Bro why you so angry?
I didn’t say “was there good food”. I said “is it disappointing?” As another poster mentioned, per capita, meaning on average, La food is better. And I readily admitted I’m not well traveled, so I’m just asking.

I wouldn't say it's disappointing, just different. The thing about LA food is for the most part you're only going to get it in LA.
You can get good food from other cuisines and cultures in most big cities.
At least that's my experience. I've traveled a good bit and recently moved from LA to MN. There's definitely good food around here, but we crave home cooking and it's almost impossible to find.

There's good food all over.
I'm probably gonna catch shite here, but Louisville food is phenomenal.
They're the UPS hub, as such get really fresh seafood even though interior US.
Great bourbon selection obviously.
Louisville is a hidden food gem.

Everywhere that we went in Italy the food was spectacular. And yes, the food in Southeast Asia is amazing as well and incredibly cheap for the amount you get.
In the US Louisiana easily has the best food/cuisine in my opinion

I believe LA produces the best food for what I like with the exception of bbq. I believe the closer you are to LA the better the food is. The further away you get fro. Here the worst the food is. You can find great food anywhere, but you want find some podunk little town with 3 or 4 good places very often outside of here. Lockhart, TX may be an argument.

Louisiana food is pretty easy to make generally. I think it's overstated how much of a culinary stronghold it is. Great food, but nothing about it is complex, most of it is due to access to fresh seafood which you can clearly get in other places.

Yes. There are a few places to get good food at a good value. NYC, L.A., Mexican in the RGV, BBQ in TX. I have been to 48 states. South LA has the best food.

Not angry but it’s the most small town small minded Louisiana question ever.
Is food outside of Louisiana disappointing???
Sure if your entire universe is one tiny spec of the world and new things scare you, something different things may be off putting.
It ain’t like home so it sucks. Grow up and try something new.
