8 of us are heading to the Tuesday practice rounds. Trying to play the Sunday and Monday before. Any suggestions on places to play?
Thanks
Thanks

We stayed in McCormick, SC last year (about 45 minutes away) and played both Savannah Lakes courses. Lots of elevation change and courses were relaxed with no big upcharge for Masters week.
The year before we did Palmetto in Aiken, SC. Rates are really high, but course is awesome. Kiz will probably be at the clubhouse hanging around drinking beer. Absolutely worth it to play, as it's probably the closest to an Augusta National type course I'll ever play. Greens are unbelievably fast but roll so true. I'd play there again if I had the opportunity.
We also did East Lake in Atlanta, but it's closed for renovations this year.

Harbor Club at Lake Oconee was a good time last year. Not too far from Augusta and lodging nearby.

Most of the course jack the rates up astronomically during Masters Week.
Savannah Lakes as the other poster suggested is a good idea.
If money is no object, try to get on at Sage Valley or Champions Retreat.

We did River Golf Club and Palmetto last year. Palmetto is an incredible course I want to play again but the group I’m with this year would combine for 500 strokes.
We are playing Westlake Country Club and Aiken Golf Club this year. Heard lots of great things about AGC and it’s moderately priced for masters week ($140/pp).
FWIW, Palmetto is $400/pp, think RGC was ~$200/pp. Augusta Country Club was $900/pp so I politely declined that one.
I also found a lot of good info on Reddit on where to play. Better book soon, I’m sure tee times are running out.

Played Reynolds Plantation a few years back. It was really good. They have a few course options and it's about halfway between Atlanta and Augusta. Wouldn't recommend if you're flying in/out of South Carolina. But if you're coming through Atlanta or driving from LA, it works well.

Played Augusta CC last year, absolutely insane but $$$

I have a group of 6 that are playing Champions Retreat on Sunday. It costs 650/person. Includes golf/range/cart/breakfast/lunch and booze until 4pm plus a 50 dollar pro shop credit.

What is the rate?
I’m a member and most years Masters price is close to the monthly rate.

$225/pp. We are playing the Saturday before Masters week so they may not have their rates fully inflated at that time.

That’s decent.
On Monday they will be at $400 per person.
I’m a member so I play frequently. Usually weekend guest are $90 with cart fee.
I think Palmetto is the one that would be MUST play for that week.
West Lake is fun, but Palmetto is one of a few places I would pay up to play.

I was quoted $3500/foursome also on Sunday at CR. Does yours include forecaddie?

Also did this
Played Creek Club, Great Waters, & The Oconee. I believe there are 6 courses total.
Also Taylor Made has their east Coast training facility called The Kingdom there.

Im a member and I think we get a lower rate. My first 4 players are at 1950/4 then the next golfers are at 650ea. Let me know if you have interest and I can inquire about times. We could do a big gross/net skins game.

We got on at Palmetto
Thanks though, next time. Hear it’s a fantastic place

Any idea IF people can play Old Barnwell or The Tree Farm during Masters Week?
Posted on 2/19/24 at 3:41 pm to makersmark1
Tree Farm is semi-private. I know there’s some option for public play but looking at the costs they were hella expensive.
Think it was $550/person with another $140 per person for a caddie.

That’s a good idea, although I’m sure the hotel and course get booked up that week. And of course, they have dropped the “Plantation” part. Too offensive I guess.

Going for Tuesday practice round and staying/playing Reynolds beforehand - Oconee and National courses
