Any tips for family or four, kids are grown. Looking for any must sees. I hear the museums are solid.

We will be there mid July. I just saw Taylor swift is playing 2 shows at Olympic stadium in the 27 and 28th. Glad we won’t be there then.

I started the below thread a couple weeks ago and people gave some great feedback - some was Munich specific that might be useful to you.

Have any flex or able to extend it? What are you doing before/after and how will you arrive/depart munich?
Are you looking to avoid renting a car or is that something you are ok with (driving in Bavaria is very easy, I wouldn't think twice about it if you are on the fence)?

Not really. Doing a river cruise in Portugal for 7 days before.

Definitely would be open to renting a car. Having driven in Dominican Republic, I’m not scared of Bavaria.

LINK either watch or join in for river surfing in center of Munich at eisbachwelle

The waves on the Eisbach river at the entrance to the Englischer Garten (park) attract surfers and onlookers from around the world. The spot is famous throughout the world for being the largest, best and most consistent city centre location for river surfing. People have been surfing here for 40 years.

I was really dissapointed in the Deutches museum about 10 years ago because it was all in German, probably 5% or less had English. So I enjoyed seeing some of the items in person like the airplanes, but beyond that was a bust IMO. It very likely may have changed.
I did enjoy the Residenzmuseum its right downtown.
The park is really nice but I wouldn't really say its memorable to be honest, I mean the surfing is cool but its not exactly mind blowing.
I love Munich though, its just a great clean city.
A trip to the alps I'd say is a must do, but if you are just there for a flight and a couple days that's pushing your time. The germans are fantastic drivers, very diligently follow the rules of the road so its very easy to drive there.
