Any chance he gets primaried?
He sounds great in hearings, but when it comes to voting, he is a Deep state RINO.

True conservatives have never been a fan of Kennedy.

Louisiana progressives who are registered as republicans have always slobbed all over his one-liner knob because he’s funny.

Louisiana voters are mildly retarded.

Don't know but he had me fooled into thinking he was a Republican.
As the saying goes fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me....I will not be fooled again and will vote for someone else next election.

Conspicuously absent from the yes votes on this monstrosity is Ms. Lindsey.

Utterly compounding the disappointment.

There’s no way that the House rejects it. Because Crenshaw

The best we can hope for is amendments at this point

I was criticized in a thread about the cloture vote on Ukraine funding a couple of days ago.

Kennedy and Cassidy will not vote for Ukraine funding per se. It will pass the senate without a super majority.

But it was Kennedy and Cassidy that greased the skids on cloture to allow this to happen.

I really do not believe people understand the cloture vote shell game in the senate. It allows passage of a bill with a simple majority and simultaneously gives cover to senators like Kennedy and Cassidy to say to Louisiana voters, "I voted against Ukraine funding. I care about the American people."

Meanwhile the fix was in when they helped pass cloture.

He recently won in 2022 with 62% of the vote. By the time the next election rolls around all of his votes for money to Ukraine will have been forgotten and he’ll be re-elected in a landslide again.

He won’t be re-elected due to change in open primary law where a conservative republican will knock him off. People will not forget about what he did yesterday. I have emailed his office and encourage everyone else to do the same.

I went to a Senate debate hosted at Louisiana Tech and Kennedy was out of his league in comparison to John Fleming.

Kennedy had no business winning that election, but Fleming was from north Louisiana so voters gave him the boot.

Not mention you had Rob Maness and David Duke going full retard on the campaign trail to muddy the water

Send him an email. I did this morning. It won’t do any good but I figured if he got enough hate mail he might just vote the way his constituents want him to vote. Probably not but we can hope

He's definitely and opportunist and out for number one... which isn't his constituency. It's all about him and enriching himself. The quintessential DC politician. He doesn't give a F about you, me or anyone but he.

I am guessing the OP isn't from here, so let me help.

1) Kennedy is not a conservative. Kennedy is a former Dem who only joined the GOP when the Dems went far left. Kennedy is the very picture of a Blue Dog Democrat.

2) Who exactly would primary him... and that's even assuming the recent closed primary bill actually survives to 2028, which is not at all guaranteed. Letlow, Johnson, and Scalise aren't moving up to the Senate, and Higgins can't win statewide office.

There's really no one else in state politics who could likely beat him at this time. Maybe before 2028, someone will pop up.

3) Don't let this board fool you... a majority of state voters in this state are not actually conservative... we are NOT some red state... we are a RINO state full of RINO voters.

he will run again and he will win. The good ole boy GOP of Louisiana isn't going to fund anyone to run against him and then the voters of this state will vote him in because the other alternative is a Dem. RINO or not he is our senator until he retires.
