You just answered your own question. You ask what the NFL has to gain and then you say how showing Swift brings 5 million more eyes. Do you know how advertising works? And FWIW I think Swift brings more than 5 million extra eyes. The NFL will do whatever they can to keep and Swift and Kelce together and the Chiefs will be gifted wins until they split. Too much money at stake.

The eyes were already on the game regardless of the outcome. There’s a difference here between swift putting eyes on the game and the outcome.

Even if the 49ers won the game, the same amount of people were watching.

a. The NFL doesn't get more money from more fans. Networks do.

b. Networks buy the rights to these SBs years in advance and no network is going to pay more for the rights to the 2030 SB gambling Taylor Swift is going out with a player.
