Give some weight to Putin. This isn’t accurate that it was limited in scope to the USSR days. Evidently, the Bushes and Barry O told Putin otherwise.

The former Soviet satellites really didn't want to sniff Russian arses ever again. NATO was like the security blanket they craved.

It's nice to know RFK,Jr has $7 mil to waste on one of the worst Super Bowl ads ever.

Russia signed the Bucharest Memorandum to guarantee Ukraine's independence if it gave up its nuclear weapons along with the US, UK and others.

I guess they should have kept them.

No no no. Putin was forced by the U.S. He's an honest man with superior morals.

It wouldn’t be all too unsurprising that populations that lived under the terrible constraints of the iron curtain would want to get some additional assurances that they would not return to those conditions. The first NATO additions post Soviet collapse were Poland Hungary and Czech.

What in the frickin Wild World of Sports do you think Russia wants to invade Europe unprovoked?

This is not 1939 or 1942. No one is invading Europe except for the 3rd world shiteholes they are allwing to invade. '

Dude, it's 2024. There will be NO MILITARY INVASION of Europe. Capisce?

That is not what happened. I worked in the Latvian embassy in Russia 1991 - 1996 and both Bush and Clinto tried - desperately tried - to get first Gorbachev and then Yeltsin to "come over to our side, be normal, be western!" but they either didn't want to do it or they were too weak to do it (too much strength in the Russian military class - didn't want to lose their pensions and priviledges".

I blame Clinton for a lot of it. NATO expansion took off in the 90s, became a military offensive (rather than defensive) after bombing Yugoslavia, and we treated Boris Yeltsin like a sucker. Putin isn’t a sucker, he’s not going to roll over and accept a unipolar world with the U.S. government dictating to everyone else what the “rules based order” is.

I don't believe you gif.

Well sir, I worked as consultant to the Sumerians who were from Pleades and used modification of DNA to create us from monkeys.

Russia does not want war a la WW2. No civilized human wants a World War. There will be no more 1st world major military invasions of other 1st or 2nd world countries. We would not do it so why do you think Russia would do it?

You think our Military would assemble like D-Day for an invasion on another nuclear country, or those protected by nuclear weapons of Allies?

Wake up dude. The 1910's- 40's want their foreign policy back.

Show me where the “no inch to the east” was ever memorialized in writing. You can’t. Just another PT fever dream.

The Bush team was actually intelligent, which is why they promised it.

They didn’t want a major land war in Europe.

Not entirely accurate. We told Gorbachev that we wouldn’t expand one inch to the east. However, at this point it was still the USSR (not Russia).
Ah, so that makes it right?

John Edwards promised his wife he'd never have an affair. However, at this point she was thinner, more attractive (and didn't have cancer).

Aside from Crimea, Russia has but one warm water port, Vladivostok.

RFKjr is pointing out that, from a national security standpoint, Russia could not afford to give up access to the Crimean ports.

I know that, but did you watch that video? He either misspoke terribly or it’s a terribly edited video. It makes it seem he said Vladivostok is in Crimea and the US was going to station it’s navy there
