You actually know basketball. Are you riding with McMahon? Trying to be patient but I would think we could hope to contend a little more when south Carolina and ole miss have turned it around so quickly

I don’t think he’s a bad coach but this fanbase is always gonna need a salesman type head coach. Fickle best describes the basketball fan base even during good seasons

It is difficult for him to be compeared to tPear, no doubt about it.

I’m just trying to envision this promising future with only two commits we are losing quite a bit of players after the season. Obviously going to have to pay up and hit the portal for much more than Louisiana transplants.

The average LSU basketball fan is stupid. The ones that post on here are even worse than that.

McMahon needs to be given two more recruiting classes including the rest of the current one. Year 4 should be the indicator of where the program is headed , but next year will need to show a major move upward to at least the top half of the league. They may actually do that this year if they can sustain quality play for longer periods against the teams which do not have clear talent advantages. You can throw a blanket over teams 4 to 10 and it will be interesting to see if they can emerge toward the better range of this group. This program is closer to turning the corner than many give it credit for, but they must keep the core group out of the portal and get a couple of hammers to transfer in.

It’s close to turning the corner but you won’t know where the program is headed until 2026?

This is honestly the biggest thing. If he was following Johnny it would much more acceptable.

But to finally have a good basketball program and have it ripped away for nothing hurts.

To make it worse, teams like Florida, USCe, and Ole Miss are having success shortly after hiring new coaches

Yeah bottom of the sec again! We should be happy ! If you enjoy anything from MM you are dumb as hell . Look at what will wade did his first season with transfers lol that’s what a good coach does . I think they had 1 returning player this year for them? Which is about the same MM had when he first came to lsu. The lack of scholarship players is an invalid argument in this day and age of college basketball. Hell every team basically starts out with a whole new team every year with the transfer portal

Some have been a fan a very very long time and have seen coaches from Press to Dale to McMahon and those between.

15 wins this season was progress. <10 would have been an immediate firing.
>15 gets him 2 more seasons. Between 10-15, he has next season to make the tourney.

That is not unreasonable.

WHAT SANCTIONS? Please please explain?

Also, please explain why a coach can’t turn it around in 1 season.
