The Clippers run L.A. - and maybe soon the entire west.

The Yahoo Sports headline was such an SDVTiger thing to say that I had to post it.

Tyronn Lue is all smiles these days — or as close as one can be at this point in such an arduous season.
The Los Angeles Clippers coach doesn’t have to shuffle his lineups on a nightly basis; he can count on his headliners to show up and play well. Even on the occasion when it felt the NBA world was crashing down on the franchise, Lue wasn’t just a steady hand. He was borderline giddy in the middle of an early-season, five-game losing streak in the immediate wake of the James Harden trade. While Harden’s reputation was in tatters following the nonsense with the 76ers, Lue saw a star player capable of being a connector.
It was a matter of time before things turned, and time moved fast.
For the man who used to take losses so hard he had to step away from coaching the Cleveland Cavaliers during the end of the LeBron James era — a two-week break in March 2018 — it’s a stark contrast.
“Go back, (listen to) all my press conferences. I've never lost five or six games in a row and I felt good, but I did feel good,” Lue told Yahoo Sports recently. “How we wanted to play, who fits well with who. It was gonna take time, but I felt really good about our team.”
Following the Clippers’ East-coast swing finale, a 149-144 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday, they sit a half-game out of first place in the West and are 26-5 since Dec. 1, best in the Association.
“Acquiring James and being healthy, Kawhi (Leonard) being healthy, (Paul George) being healthy, being All-Stars,” Lue said. “We know we can play with the elite teams in this league.”
To understand where Lue is now, you have to go back to last April, when the Clippers were on the verge of playoff elimination as their stars were again failed by health.

They'll lose to Doc Rivers and the Bucks when the games matter

Such a shame to see Hardwn transition to a super team kind of guy. Will really dampen the achievement when he finally gets to pop that bubbly and crush trulys

I don’t like them but think they are in position to win it all. They have so much experience and each of them knows this might be their last best chance. Age can hurt them but also help them in playoffs. Harden usually (always) folds in playoffs but is not the main attraction now so it might work. Bench is deep.

Clipper have run LA the last 10yrs
Once Ballz opens his new Mega Stadium and leaves Jeannie in the dust its over for them
Might as well relocate to Seattle

They have a legit chance to finally get some kind of banner before intuit opens. Their team is loaded.

The only team that the clips need to worry about is Denver.

To be fair DEN didn’t beat any 50 win teams in the playoffs last year. LAC is at a 65 win pace since they moved Russ to the bench. A different beast than anyone DEN got to play last season. DEN also isn’t as good as the bench is not as good. But still a couple of days to upgrade it.

"Why not the Clippers?" - CP3

The best roster in the NBA and by a lot. But this group has historically dropped like flies during the season and playoff. Leonard and PG13 have seldom been available at the same time when it mattered.
If I'm Lue, I'm praying for health. It's their biggest opponent.

It is pretty cool that James Harden, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and Russell Westbrook are all from the Los Angeles area and are playing for the Clippers and could win a championship for their city.
