My wife has a storage unit in Dallas that we've paid for probably 15 years. We've been in a cold war about it for a decade. It's like 250 bucks a month now.

15x12x250 = $45,000. Ouch

That is nothing.

My Dad is 82. I took over his real estate about 5 years ago. He has two small commercial buildings and one 1800 sq ft house just full of his crap that he just flat out refuses to get rid of. Old cars, furniture, appliances etc etc. He is a hoarder.

The cost of "storing" his stuff is about $16-18K a year which I have to absorb with profit from his other real estate.

It is insane. He won't budge.
