Friend’s wife was backing up in a parking lot and didn’t see the approaching car in her blind spot.

Hit his car, causing minimal damage, and he’s trying to claim an injury and get $100K from State Farm.

How common is this BS? Minor wrecks with people immediately running to a lawyer and getting a BS chiropractor assessment to bilk the insurance company out of 10s of thousands.

Every lawsuit in the courthouse is frivolous except my own.

How cheap is your friend for not providing his wife with a car equipped with retard alarms to prevent this from happening?

Could be some head trauma that you aren’t aware of. Being forced to stop immediately because someone pulls their 6,000 lb car in front of yours can cause traumatic injuries.

I have a buddy who’s wife hit a parked car, with occupant inside in a parking lot. Fender, bumper and headlight damage.

Getting sued for $800k. Which just happens to be the policy max on their umbrella policy.

Seems like getting sued is more dangerous than the accidents themselves.

Blame our lawmakers. Until they stop allowing the lawsuits, they will not stop.

Very common. Plaintiff Attorneys are the scum of the earth and for some reason schools and sports teams associate with them. These people are the reason we pay so much. They do not deserve any connection to a school or team.

It’s the money hungry, chasing culture we have right now. People want the money, flash it, and feel like a somebody at any expense. Having dignity and morals slow down that process.

The judges, who were all plaintiff attorneys before being a judge, have repeatedly ruled the force of impact has no bearing on the extent of injury. In many states, accident reconstruction is done and insurance companies can hire biomechanical engineers to prove the “impact” was equivalent of sitting in a chair; yet in LA the judges throw this out and do not allow it as evidence. So people treat and treat at a chiropractor running up the value of the claim and the insurance companies have little choice but to pay out tens of thousands. This happens daily. I see it every day.

Those hundreds of billboards, incessant commercials, and bus wraps don’t pay for themselves.

The entire country needs tort reform, especially in Louisiana, the problem is the legislative members are mostly shysters themselves, or are bought and paid for by the shysters.

This is why in China if they run over someone they back up to finish the job.

Did they actually file suit or is their attorney just asking for policy limits?

Filing a BI claim =/= filing suit
