Most telling stat from MSU game...

71% of points came from the PG position.

Maybe the most telling stat is 77-73, they had player come off the bench who averages 5 points a game score 19...was their night

I mean, I really like Van Lith (as a SG) and think she’s stepping up as “the best option” to try to gut out a season learning PG, but it is telling when the opposite side has the starting PG and a replacement averaging 5pts go off for 24 and 19, respectively.
HVL does struggle to defend at the 1. It is a concern against any team that can exploit that unless Mulkey starts making changes on defense.

I said this last night…our guards lost the game…on defense and offense

It’s over man time to move on

Kim Mulkey clearly knows 10,000x more about the X’s and O’s of basketball than any of us, but I wonder why we don’t let Flau’jae guard the point and HVL stay on the SG

They were on fire, LSU wasn’t. Its basketball.

MSU hit 3 pointers and LSU didn’t.

The really poor play and shooting from M. Williams , I know she’s a freshman but I thought she would be the X factor by now.Depth is really hurting this team, last night they got out played and out hustled , they need to realize they gonna get everyone’s best shot so need to be on the best game every game.

I thought Williams needed to play better also and was disappointed about that.
The idea of Johnson playing the point some seems worth exploring.
The coaching staff must do something about this--if not, we could sadly see more losses even in the remaining SEC games.

3 pt shooting was difference maker

Man, all these experts wanting to blame HVL. The whole team was missing put-backs from under the bucket while their team hit like five 3-pointers down the stretch. They got hot, we had tired legs and had sloppy, untimely turnovers. I am pretty sure HVL is a 2nd best player out there running the court

Anyone who followed HVL at Louisville would tell you this was her biggest issue in college. Opposing guards she guarded would constantly get career highs when she defended them. At Louisville she was able to counteract that by scoring a lot. At LSU we aren't really getting much scoring out of her, partly Mulkey's fault having her out of position but she is also just playing so hesitant and not looking to score at all.

She took a lot of shots at Louisville….you are right- her defense was terrible there

We are still not playing like a team the full game. Kim does not have the luxury to bench any player when they need a few minutes to think about their performance

Huh???? Williams was 5 for 8...Morrow was 6 of 18. Which player had the worse shooting night? {Final Jeopardy music}

LSU starting five averaged 36 min of PT and we only played 3 subs...
We had 21 min of cumulative sub time.
MSU had 62 min of cumulative sub time.
Nobody is playing good defense at the end of the game with that much time on the floor.

I certainly have no skins such as Mulkey, but have been in the profession. We need to mix and change defenses occasionally. Teams get comfortable against our man to man, mostly because we lack quickness

There are no other options. We don't have a shifty, quick athlete on this roster to handle good college level point guards with above average quickness. Zero. They are not on this team currently. Its a roster oversight. HVl is the best you got defensively.
