What is your opinion of Zion’s future as a player in the league:
Upvote : consistent all star selection and all NBA atleast once
Downvote: occasional All Star (say 2-3 more times max) but no All NBA

Down vote. Until he shows dedication to fitness this what he is

I won’t vote in Cali because they use paper straws

I don't see how anyone can believe he'll be more than he is now. He plays 50% of games or less, his personal life is a mess, he's out of shape all the time. He isn't dedicated to basketball and doesn't care about his team or himself.

If he can't develop a jump shot he will always be at the mercy of foul no-calls

He's averaging near 22/6/5 this year, which is fine...
But we need him to be able to turn up into the 27/7/4 version of him when it matters.
That being said he's gonna be an occasional pick, there's better forwards in the west who put up better numbers.

This question depends on one factor.
Are we trading BI and making Zion “The Leader”?
If the answer is yes then upvote, if its no then downvote. We will never see Peak Zion again, like in December last year, unless BI gets traded or goes out with another long term injury and this coaching staff and FO is forced into letting Zion take over the team.

Zion still is figuring out his game i think. He has always just muscles to the rim but sometimes that isn’t open. If he could any kind of a midrange game he would really be unstoppable. He’s a fantastic passer too. Not sure why he waited this long to show us he could pass like that. Just a 12-15 foot shot would open his game up and make the way teams defend him change tactics. This is a shooting offense but it has to originate from pressure on the block that Zion gives and opens up shooters when help defense arrives.

I though his back tat was called Mount Zion.

His future is he doesn’t want to be here much longer

This has nothing to do with BI or any other player. Strictly Zion , no matter the team , coach system , etc .

So to this point , about 80% believe he will be just a good to really good player moving forward best case scenario.
So my question is , why does there seem to be such a big aversion to trading him on this board? Is it just a vocal minority situation?

Because unless we swindle a team for Zion+picks+contracts for a superstar, trading Zion means we're going into full rebuild mode and I'm not sure how many day one Hornets/Pels fans have the stomach to go through a fourth rebuild.
For as underwhelming as these last five years have been, Zion is still our best shot at having a true bonafide superstar that can lead us to a WCF and beyond. Based on how his career has gone so far, chances are that Zion won't ever figure it out and unlock that full potential... but there's still a chance. If we trade him, there is no chance.

Not meaning to argue …
Why does it mean full rebuild ?
The majority do not see him as a star or even star potential . Doesn’t it seem crazy to continue to say that he’s our only chance when that seems to be a highly unlikely situation and one most don’t believe to be the case ?
The fact the 20ish percent still see him with that kind of potential is why he would be the one that I would move . Perhaps there is another gm that thinks they could get him to that point where n their team .
The longer it goes , the worse the value will be for him imo .

Again, the issue is not if Zion can do it, he’s shown he can play at a superstar level, but they have to turn the team over to him for that to happen, not push him as second fiddle to another player

Because that's what trading your biggest contract does, especially with BI expiring after next season.
If we trade Zion, we're tearing it all down.

Not sure why anyone thinks the word “Zion” and “develop” go together. He’s physically regressed since he’s been in the NBA and hasn’t developed a single basketball skill.

Sure, but he's also shown he can sit out for multiple seasons. Hard to hand the keys over to that.

I’m talking about Zion the player .
If he was THAT guy , it doesn’t matter the team , system , coach , etc . He would be the leader , the go to guy , and perhaps a more popular upvote in this poll.
I think it is a question of if he can do it AND sustain it …which he’s never done .
