I have a friend who is a men's basketball SID at a Power 5 school. When Raftery comes to his town to call a game, my friend says they go to a laid back bar to hang out, tell stories, and drink until the bar closes. And nobody in the party pays a dime--Raftery always has the tab. Says Raftery is the coolest dude ever.

And even in his late 70's, old baw is never hungover for the broadcast.
