So I got a few lessons. Learned a TON! Was disconnecting my elbow on the way down, figure eighting on the way up, dipping on the back swing, swaying back and forth, etc…

I tried the ole towel drill and seem to hit them pretty well. Is it just going to take tons of practice for me to get consistent? The timing of the hips on impact seem to be the hardest thing for me right now

yes it takes a while. Lots of grinding on the range to build muscle memory.

Practice using small buckets of balls. I found that when grooving a new swing, I blow through a large bucket and start losing focus which meant forgot what I was suppose to be working on.

Hit fewer balls and really focus on each rep. I've found that partial (3/4 swings) at first was alot easier for me to master the important part of the swing quicker.

Did you get videotaped and get sent some clips of your swing with some tips? Keep getting lessons.

Also consider getting the Smart Ball from Tour Striker and just work on some short, easy swings.

My favorite Tiger Woods quote applies here...

“My first 150 balls of the day just gets me back to where I left off yesterday”

Gonna take a lot of hitting balls

Just replying to say I'm in same boat. Without getting into too much detail, I went in with hopes of improving my golf game. Learned that lessons will help improve your swing but your game (score) will take much more to improve. You can correct your path, angles, etc but if you can't get up and down or make putts you're always going to be average at best. I'm sticking with the lessons and having fun learning the numbers and drills to improve but not expecting strokes to fall until I work the short game.

You will reach a higher level of play long term IF you become a better ball striker.

It is true that a great short game can cover up a lot of sins, but long term you will have more potential for lower scores IF you are hitting more greens.

I need to improve my swing.
