I dealt with that tedious bullshite for 150 hours or so of BotW and another 80 or so in TotK
Speaking of these games. Weapons that break after a couple of encounters. I’m fine with having to repair weapons but BotW was ridiculous with how quickly weapons broke. TotK is a better but I still hate it.

Nobody has mentioned micro transactions yet?
I was just about to post that. They ESPECIALLY insult me when I’m already paying a subscription for the game. It should be one or the other. Not both.

Always online, especially for single player games
Subscription: I refuse to pay for a game more than once. I want to buy it once and own it.
Micro transactions, especially if they’re pay to win
Battle royale, I never find those games to have easy ways to learn them before getting thrown to the wolves
Survival horror
Retro bit: I may be a weirdo, but I don’t prefer to play games that look like they were a SNES game. I actually love a big beautiful modern 3D world like we see in Ghost of Tsushima or Red Dead. Stardew Valley is an incredibly well-made game, but dammit if it doesn’t look noticeably worse than Harvest Moon for the N64 that came out nearly 30 years ago!
Souls-like or Souls-esque, this is usually a term for a game with straight up broken combat. Sometimes, those games actually have a great active combat system with dodges and parries, but usually it’s just a janky unfair mess that feels like it was broken on purpose to make it more difficult.

I got at least 20 hours into BOTW before I realized how to cook. I was absolutely spamming apples to stay alive
I think I had unlocked every tower in the game before I cooked my first meal, might have even beaten a sacred beast.

and yet you play destiny
Devious, were you the one asking several months ago if anyone was playing D2? I'm considering joining a casual clan for occasionally running endgame content and with help acquiring the more difficult exotics.
