Taylormade Qi10 LS Driver - Preview

I got to hit this driver today after a lesson and it’s a beaut. I hit the Qi10 LS with a Hulk Green shaft and my first swing produced 170 mph ball speed with a slight draw. It felt amazing and definitely think there’s some noticeable improvements here. Anyways, I got lucky to hit one today so just wanted to share.
Go get it if you love TM or just looking for an improvement.

What’s your normal driver ball speed?

Normal is probably 160-165 ish. My personal high is around 175. I play a TSR3 currently which is fairly fast. I’m not sure I’ve seen 170 on my first swing before though.

I heard it’s a big improvement over the stealth, which isn’t a huge surprise.
I’m really interested to hit the Ping. That seems to be getting rave reviews.

There are 3 models, the Qi10 Max, Qi10 Standard and the Qi10 LS.
The reviews that I have seen say that there isn't a lot of difference between the Stealth 2 and the Qi10 LS. The best one for average to a little above average golfers would be the standard version, it carried around the same as the LS but had better dispersion pattern. The Max version was more forgiving but didn't go as far because the shaft was shorter thus the ball speed and carry distance were about 20 yards shorter.

Really like the reviews and what I'm hearing about this driver so far. Hearing it's much better than the Stealth/Stealth 2. I have a Sim 2 Max currently which I love, but been looking to upgrade. The Stealth 1/2 did not outperform the Sim 2 Max for me.
However the price points on new drivers are out of control. $600 for the base version, $800 with an upgraded shaft. I am fitted to a Tensei AV raw orange shaft which is an upgrade. How can the average golfer possibly afford this? Almost $1,000 with taxes and possibly shipping? There's no way I can justify spending that on one club.

I tried both the Qi10 and the smoke last week at the club. The Smoke is phenomenal and is hot. The Qi10 is way more stable than my gen1 stealth and the sound is great. I’m going to take both on the course once the weather gets better to see which route I’m golly going with.

Picked up a LS yesterday and it’s great. Way better than the stealth’s. Low spinning, great sound. It’s 7-8 yards longer than the regular Q10 model. I was very skeptical but pleasantly surprised.

How long are you folks playing a driver before you feel the need to upgrade? I'm playing a SIM2 Max and it's still hitting tanks. Before that played an SLDR for probably a decade.
Just wondering how often yall think the technology really improves enough to make a significant difference.

I still play my TM R1 Tour Issued driver, and have not seen any performance drop off. I’ve had the club for 10 years.

Just getting back into it from a 12 yr layoff. My R5 (bought in 06 I think) was probably outdated 2 yrs after release. I plan on getting this swing a little more consistent then replace it and the R5 3w.

Once I see a drop off in performance or I try something new that significantly out performs my current gamer.
