Lot #1013.3 - This rare and historic 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W30 was used in the 1993 movie Demolition Man starring Sylvester Stallone, Sandra Bullock and Wesley Snipes. It was purchased from the GM Heritage Collection on an MSO. This is a very special 442 W30 that is indisputably documented by its certificate of origin from GM. Oldsmobile modified this car for the movie with performance options not offered to the public. This 442 is one of the fastest Oldsmobiles ever sold by GM. In the movie Demolition Man, set mostly in the year 2032, this Matador Red 1970 Olds 442 W30 is discovered by police officers John Spartan (played by Sylvester Stallone) and Lenina Huxley (played by Sandra Bullock) in the slums of San Angeles. Using an old elevator, the car bursts up through the floor of a modern day Oldsmobile dealership and Stallone's character drives it out of the showroom onto the street begining an extensive car chase scene. If ever there was an Oldsmobile muscle car to collect, what can be better than a documented, one-of-a-kind, factory modified Red 442 W30 that was purchased from the GM Heritage Collection and driven by Sylvester Stallone in the 1993 box office hit Demolition Man. From the Double L Ranch Collection.

Yeah, that kind of sucks. Guess they couldn't work a deal out with MT TV.
It will be broadcast on the fyi channel starting tomorrow, apparently. I didn't even realize I had that channel. If you do, check it out.

Take a look at what is going on in San Diego right now. Lots of rain out in the Southwest over the next few days.

That truck is totally awesome and utterly ridiculous all at the same time. I can only imagine what it costs. Would love to test drive, but probably not drop seven figures on it lol.

Corvette split window is a beautiful car.

My god, the wheels on this, why?
Picking wheels for restomods is a minefield. They rarely look right with a lot of dish and the narrow wheels relative to today make it hard to not have a lot of dish without spacers. I have made the choice twice and went with a era-correct repro center and a mild dish, a compromise for performance but it is needed for aesthetics. You also have to make a choice on wheel diameter/aspect ratio of the tire. The farther you go above 15" and below 50s on a 60/70s era car the odder it looks. Keeping a small diameter wheel then limits you on brake rotor size. IMO restomods are hard to get "right" and most of it revolves around the wheels and tires.

Thanks for these threads every year.
Going thru some of the cars is always interesting.

I weep for every chopped up '63 split window I see these days.
I figure most aren't exactly by choice and were found originally in poor conditions

Nah, I love 'em all.
I'd probably cash out my 401k for that Ken Miles tribute car, but I doubt it'd be enough.

Who would buy this K5 in 1989 and then park it?

Found some cool Zs I’d be interested in. I like how this first one has been repainted:
Nice stance as well:

This Custom 240Z is cool:

My favorite one of all the cars is this pristine blue 240Z:
That one could get me in trouble.
