I can confirm.....that much whole protein has big time metabolic effect....i have never sweated like that. crazy meat sweats all the time and overall i was miserable eating that much.

Same principle as lifting to Failure. Most people stop there and never reach their full potential. You must go beyond failure in both lifting and eating. Few have fortitude for it.

i used to, back in my 20s but wasnt consistent enough for sure.
like you though, im too old to be pushing it that hard without racking up lots of injuries. 1 rep in reserve or a true failure is about as far as I can go for sure.

Agree in principle but depends on what your goals are. At 44 I’m not doing anything like I did when I was 30 and my goals are totally different. I will say lifting heavy is a must and no matter your age don’t be scared to try it. Being natty now I can tell a huge difference in when I lift heavy vs just lifting moderate or light weights. It’s no comparison to how I look and feel. Heavy is the way if you want to make gains and transform physique.

Alot of my protein comes from chicken breast, deer groundmeat that I make 50/50 deer and brisket, NY strips and shrimp. I do count my macros daily but what I always struggle with is in eating protein I feel the macros I count are not very accurate. Lets say using brisket for my deer groundmeat I will use the built in macros for brisket but I trim off alot of the fat before making the groundmeat. Also, say for instance is a ny strip calculates as a certain amount of fat but if I trim off the fat before cooking or eating I always feel macros in the apps are way lower in fat than I actually eat.

If you arent on testosterone or hgh, will one really see benefits of of 200+ grams of protein a day? It just feels excessive and if you don't have an exterior muscle enhancer, I feel like you are spinning your wheels.
Depends what rest of diet and calorie expenditure looks like.

Meat isn’t going to do that. Eating processed garbage that you think is ‘healthy’ would do that. It’s really not hard to get to 250 grams if eating real Whole Foods and throwing in a shake or two.
Im on a pseudo carnivore diet(one banana or blueberries/day) and the fat makes it difficult to eat much more than 200g. Sometimes I
cant even get to that. I dont do shakes
though.
