LOL. Poor gal.

No worries. The SEC is still run, by and large, by Bama alum. ESPN is going to see to it that Bama will be in the playoffs annually no matter what. The SEC will continue to fix games for Bama weekly, if needed. Nothing is going to change other than who is roaming the sidelines.

With all the advantages Bama has, I wonder if their next coach could go unbeaten more than once in their tenure there.

You mean like they did when Mike Dubose was coach? Or Dennis Franchione? Or Mike Shula? When LSU fans play the "Bama cheats" card, or start talking about REC, paid off officials, etc. to explain Saban's success, it's just embarrassing. Let's just acknowledge that he was the GOAT, and that he has built the Bama program into a machine that will likely have sustained, long-term success (just as he did at LSU), tip our hats, and move on.

Bama hasn’t won a natty in several years now. SEC must be doing a terrible job of “fixing games.”

Alabama was getting nowhere near the championship before Saban because they weren’t very good. After Saban got there they got to the Championship regularly because they were, by far, the best program in the country - not because ESPN suddenly became Bama fans.

I don't think that the SEC, NCAA, and ESPN were in love with bama the school, it was Saban. He was college football. Of course they wanted to help their living legend. He drew huge ratings. Some tuned in to root for him and most tuned in to root against him, but they all tuned in.

There isn't another coach in the world who can be that kind of draw. I don't think we'll see the SEC, NCAA, ESPN, etc. bending over backwards to help bama as much without Saban. But even if they do, in this new world of portals and NILs, I don't know how much it will help. Parity is here and it's here to stay. Programs will rise and fall but we'll never see another run like Saban had again.
