My sauces are telling me the amount of guys coming thru coaches office (25+) after the semi-finals asking for more money and not showing any remorse for the loss was the straw that broke the GOATS back.

The portal and NIL are killing the game we all love.

The NCAA needs a commissioner to get this straight, I would like to officially nominate Saban as the first commissioner of the NCAA

what do y’all think ?

I think it's killing a lot of coaches.

Being a coach at a major P5 school is already a 24/7 job. When you're not playing, you're recruiting and so on.

But this added layer of having to basically keep recruiting the kids that are already on your roster to keep them from transferring, the power shift in a teenager having 6 figures in their bank account, and the list goes on.

I have to imagine being a head coach right now is the biggest fricking headache and most time consuming job you could imagine.

College coaching is becoming a young man's game more than ever now.

I'm hearing the same thing, don't care if I'm believed. He had enough, plain and simple. The current landscape is not Saban's way of running a program.

I'd love to see him help out politically this situation before we self destruct the game we love. There is none better at communicating a message...

he's going to live in Florida,... get in a golf cart or fishing boat...then do TV gigs at his own leisure...

Is Ms Terry sick? hope those reports are false...

Cowherd said he heard Saban signed a massive TV deal...like north of a 100 million...others tweeted about it as well

Well they can't really touch NIL

They just need to remove the free transfers unless the HC leaves. The portal is fine without that.

dude can't stash 5 stars on his rosters as easily as he used to. not sure this is a bad thing, if anything it should create more parity. the schools and coaches make plenty of money, they should adapt or quit.

Saban has flat out publicly said that NIL/transfers and how they changed the game is what made him hang it up.

I think NIL affected Saban the most, not longer had the loaded deck since there is more parity.

I’d honestly love for Saban to be on some sort of committee to address these concerns about the changing landscape of CFB.

NIL isn’t going anywhere and was long overdue imo, but the portal rules seem to be the real issue bc it encourages free agency. Just make players have to sit a year for transferring unless they meet some specific criteria: grad transfer, HC retired/fired, redshirt season, etc.
