While not that feasible, players ignoring the coach and just running that play should be

cut. I know it can't happen, but it showed an utter lack of class, sportsmanship and respect. It is also pathetic from any standpoint that players did that. This wasn't Mathieu getting in the end zone on a great play with the INT. It was selfish players doing whatever fits them best and shows everything wrong with this franchise right now.
I don't blame Allen for calling out the players in the press conference. It was bush league what they did and there needs to be consequences for the players somehow.
Allen still sucks and should be fired along with the entire staff, but people letting their hate for Allen cloud their judgment of pathetic players doing such a disrespectful thing on so many levels is just sad.

When players start calling there own plays, the whole organization is lost

I agree, consequences need to be swift and severe. Fire Allen immediately.

If there were only a few players involved in the decision, you may have a point. But it appears you have nearly the entire locker room behind the decision (maybe not the exact play), the issue isn't with the players. The play they used to do it was the only thing I would have changed, but I get why they did it. They didn't want DA to know they ignored his call.
I also believe the lack of respect was intentional and aimed directly at DA. That play told me they are trying to force the front office's hand to make a decision that majority of the players believes is in the best interest of the organization.

Can’t stand the Falcons so I have no problem running it up but if DA is still the coach the first thing I do is cut Jamies. All that crazy shite he does is so childish and now this. I know it’s not a popular take but him and Mike Thomas seem like a cancer

What Allen doesn't want to tell us is the players have been doing it for 2 games.

The entire team loves Jameis, complete opposite of a cancer. Are you retarded?

Williams deserved that TD.
The Falcons can choke on a d*ck.

Do the saints give a discount to the fans for games that are meaningless? No? Then please proceed to entertain me as you see fit players.
Our coach is Dennis Allen. How much more do we need to do for the falcons to keep the score close.

This isn't a case of the prisoners running a prison. This is a mutiny by high character players against a captain that has guided his ship into terrible conditions and has lost his crew. This was not a sudden event yesterday. This was the climax to a culmination of rebellious actions due terrible leadership.
This coach never had his players' backs, and they had enough of it. frick your noise. These guys did the right thing in this situation. None of them should be cut for this. They took leadership of a leadership vacant team.

I understand both sides of it but
#1 if the players came to Allen and asked him to run a play for Williams then he should have
#2 Allen should have stuck up for his team even though I don’t agree with the most bush league weak arse play call ever
#3 Williams sucks, Allen is a beta, Mickey won’t do anything, Carmichael sucks and so does Winston even though I like him.

quote:the issue here is if they come out in a formation other than victory allen likely calls a timeout (I cant remember if we had any left but im assuming we did) and puts in carr who would knee it like the good little bitch he is. that was the only way that TD was happening.

Wouldn't you think that if the players had so little respect for their coach that they would ignore him to lift up one of there guys that maybe the coach is the problem? Further, instead of handling it internally, he publicly throws "his guys" under the bus. How about we cut the coach.

I don’t disagree about the need to discipline the players. They made the choice to do what they did, and they should feel it in their wallets accordingly.
But DA throwing them under the bus in the presser betrays a lack of integrity which likely underscores why he’s lost the locker room in the first place. Nobody wants to play for a weasel.

I don't think they put that much thought into it. I think they wanted to get Williams a TD so they did it.
The two main problems I have with it are
1) They never should have asked DA about the TD in the first place. If they were going to do it just do it. By asking you set up this whole FU to DA situation that I really believe it was never about.
2) DA's reaction to it was pure lack of emotional control and not becoming of a leader. They asked and he said NO and they did it anyway. His response should have been "It wasn't the called play, we'll deal with it in house. Next question".
