The players shouldn't take heat for the fired defensive staff.

That includes Burns.
If someone is taught how to eat healthy by a lard arse, they're going to be bad at it.

Perhaps but At some point it’s on you to make plays

It’s the players and coaching baw.

These are college players. They’ve been taught over the years

I am sick of this excuse. They have been playing football all their lives some 5 years in COLLEGE. They have been taught how to run angles and wrap up. Tackling is like rebounding a basketball, it is a will thing and not a skill thing.

they may be taught over the years, but it can be lost. look at the defensive line. i'm sure they've been taught to not be 2 yards off the line, but when they don't have a coach they creeped back.

Exactly. This is why we have coaches at all levels even professional. If it was on the players to just make the plays, we wouldn't need them. It's on the coaches to put the players in position to be successful and that includes alignment, technique, knowledge of scheme, and mentality. If a player fails occasionally, maybe he just doesn't have the talent but when the entire defense consistently fails to meet minimum expectations, this is a complete failure of coaching.

Then I assume you want House to return and Fire said players

18 tackles, 9 solo in the bowl. Just imagine what some coaching could do for his play.

Perhaps part of their problem was trying to make plays and not simply doing their job. That’s the discipline part all you “coaches” keep referring to

The issues this season were mainly House scheme oriented. Players played timid, overthinking and that made them look slow and bad angles.
Goes without saying the defensive line was not fond of House's scheme. D line hate playing soft and not attacking

Sure, players get no blame. We are playing them money to tackle, cover, play ball in air and have a general instinct about what is coming. Some have none of that.

This is so stupid
These dudes didn’t come to lsu needing to know how to tackle or not get pushed off the LOS
Scheme ??? yeah that’s coaching
Execution?? At this levell?? Nah that’s on individual players

When scheme is bad & techniques aren't taught properly those angles become wrong & lead to poor tackling.

To be fair.. it’s hard to make a tackle when the scheme has you out of position to begin with.
