On Day 15, Capt Jack announces neither one will have THC or nicotine on the trail going forward. He says they disposed of all they had the night before and Bob Ross made a smoking motion.

They also had a great breakfast at a hostel and then showed a plate with 2 dry waffles because they forgot to film their real breakfast.

That chopping wood segment was pretty good. Especially when the axe head flew off.

I just finished Day 19 for these guys. Just bad luck after bad luck, took over two weeks for them just to get out of Georgia, and now sidelined again. They've spent more time in hostels and hotels than on the trail.

I just did the math. At this rate, it will take 533 days for them to complete the hike.

They aren’t finishing, no way…. Jack has a meltdown about every little thing and is already complaining about his knee again. Sounds like they are running low on $ now too. I doubt they make it through NC at this rate.

On Day 19, Jack changes the rules. Although neither he nor Bob will possess THC or Nicotine, they will still partake if other hikers offer to them around a campfire or at a hostel. Because they wouldn't want to be rude, ya know.

Which, spoiler alert... is the reason why they got more bad luck on Day 19 with the water bottle situation and bladder situation.

Dont see how that was anyone’s fault but his. He put the shite next to the fire but then got mad at Bob for stoking the fire.

They talked about money they budgeted for the trip. He talked about how his money was getting used up but implied that money wasn’t an issue for Bob Ross. They’ve talked about Bob being a skateboarder so I wonder if he made some decent money for that? Anyway, they’ve started accepting funds from viewers.

They are hurting but the Shoe Guru told them to slow down their pace and mileage when they’re on the trail.

Couple things to keep in mind. Days are much shorter right now. It isn't as easy to get out of your sleeping bag and get going when it's 20 degrees as it is when it's 50. While the mountains aren't high elevation in Georgia, you are walking up and down alot (not as much walking along a ridge).

I have not followed them, but don't give up on them just yet. It some point it becomes more of a mental challenge than a physical one.

Poor Bob Ross hiked 15 miles in snow today wearing sandals and some gaiters he borrowed from an older woman they hiked with. In the parking lot waiting for a ride to their hotel, Capt Jack told Bob he has a pair of waterproof socks Bob can borrow.

I've still been following. They've run into foot & ankle problems, but think they fixed it with new footwear and extra stretching before and after a day of hiking. Duh. Started taking donations according to their youtube. On day 23 now I think. Almost into the smokies. They've quit THC & nicotine.

If you're not Sleeping and $#!++ing in the woods "every night" are you REALLY doing the AT?

No one spends EVERY night on the trail; a town day every 3 or 4 days seems typical and a zero mile day happens about once a week or so. If they would have stayed on the trail without breaks, they would have already quit and they’d be sitting around Baton Rouge right now wishing they started less aggressively.
