Anyone know about this Krewe of Red Beans controversy?

not-so-local new orleans social media grifter JD Carrere posted a video "explaining" how the founder allegedly didn't use funds properly. nola reddit is saying it's a shady organization but some are saying the founder is a good guy (certainly possible) and JD is a clown (100% true).

It’s very interesting how these White hipster Bywater/Marigny transplants come to New Orleans from all over the country & seem to appoint themselves to be the epicenter of New Orleans culture/cool & still don’t understand that the Black locals absolutely hate them for “gentrification” of “their” neighborhoods. Yet they all vote exactly the same.

To me it seems pretty obvious this white savior knew exactly what he was doing and who he was going to “help” before he even got to nola.
That being said, JD is dishonest as frick and seems to always assume the worst about people and any tidbit or anecdote that even remotely supports his preconceived notions is treated as irrefutable stone cold fact. All the while anyone saying anything that goes against his preconceived notions are either paid shills or sinister oppressors doing anything they can to keep the black man down.
I also love when he quits social media with some whiny bitch post about how he is disrespected and shite only to resurface like a day or two later. Dude can’t even make it 48 hours and when he comes back he acts like it never even happened lmao.

This and it's terrible. They took a culture they saw and really liked and painted a caricature of it and now prop that up as who we are. Over the years I've seen frenchmen turn unrecognizable. It was a celebration of all things local music...it's now full off odd street performers, a really fricking strange art gallery, and people who look a step above gutter punks who think it's all "SOO NOLA!!!"
