Saints brass goes on the offensive…with justifying keeping DA a 3rd year

They went to Ian Rapoport to do a puff piece to justify their coming inaction

I don't wanna keep Allen, but if we are, at least go get someone off shanahan or mcvay's staff to be the OC.

It’s a good move if they are dedicated to the tank (but I’m not convinced they are).

I don’t see a different path honestly. Name your flavor be it Ben Johnson , mcVae doesn’t matter. With this roster that the saints are completely stuck with its 4 wins at best. Just let DA burn it to the ground

4 wins at best? Yeah, I don't see that at all.

With Gayle at the helm, this franchise will go the way of the Faubourg Brewery.

Agreed.
It’s the right move IF they start the pain this offseason

Dennis Allen has beat 3 teams with a winning record the last two years. One was the Eagles at the end of last year which held out an injured Hurst and was coasting into the playoffs.
Half our wins are against the worst of the worst. (Panthers, Patriots, Panthers, & Giants)
Our schedule next year won’t be as easy as this year. I think Dennis Allen only makes it half way through the season if they bring him back because he will likely only have one or two wins through six weeks. We are just delaying the inevitable!

Allen would win more than 4 next season. The response was to him saying Johnson or Mcvay would top out at 4. That's ridiculous throwing Mcvay in there... he'd win this division easily

I know what I see, and old team getting older. Everything has to be perfect on a play call for Carr to be successful. This team doesn’t like Carr, nor do the fans. His red zone issues haven’t improved. The OL is over paid, and regressing badly despite investing 4 first round picks. The decision to cut both kickers from last year has cost them games. A defensive scheme that calls for big DE who’s forte isn’t pass rushing, resulting in very little pressure on the QB, and mobile QB’s consistently breaking containment. Mismanagement of the cap which made players like Hendrickson, Marcus Williams, CG Johnson, Sheldon Rankins to move on. Meanwhile players like Peat, Ruiz, are extended and free agents who have underperformed were signed to replace the before mentioned players. So Benson and Loomis can keep Allen who will never be a winning coach, rush to give interviews defending him but they can’t hide the product on the field. Don’t piss on my back and tell me it’s raining.

Well - that just kicks the can of suckery down the road.
My hope is that we get a top 5 pick at some point before I die so we can get a franchise QB.
We’re headed for a mindset where .500 is acceptable.
I hope the fans ditch the games if it continues to go downhill. Maybe they will listen to their profit margin.

They will. You can't be a Saints fan and see what you saw the last two seasons and still be excited about next season. I hope they seriously are tanking.

I think we all knew this season would be exactly the same as last and it was. Yet next year will probably be worse. Omg we’re tanking aren’t we

Sad isn't it, I mean you can't even fold right.

Probably not on purpose, but I hope that for the future, we don't spend any money and just go out there with what we have. Trade off anything with value. If they are obviously trying to get better in the future I think the fans will be understanding.

Their rationale isn’t totally wrong but in the end DA is a coach that has to scrap his arse off to maybe just make the playoffs. Our roster going downhill will be the end of DA next year.
Posted on 12/31/23 at 9:36 am to Fun Bunch
If they keep DA and the staff then Saints fans should boycott and not go to the games. If one thing will make Gayle fire him it’s taking money out of her pocket.

I don know about that... it's a blueprint to stop that offense (see Ravens)... plus you need that personnel (zone blockers)...

The dome will be empty week 1.
