Why do you think a class about how to properly conduct research is somehow immune to political biases?

The same reason I understand that an algebra class is immune to political biases. There isn’t room for politics when teaching the logistics of how to do something.

Maybe your professors brought up politics while teaching science classes. I wasn’t indoctrinated at LSU, I wasn’t indoctrinated in my master’s program at a different school, and I’m not being indoctrinated now.

Ok. People's brains still do fully develop, though.

If your teacher uses pronouns, its not.

You take humanities courses, you 100% are neck deep in marxist ideology.

The only professor I had that tried to bring her leftist ideas into the fold was a speech teacher. I never had any left wing topics brought up in engineering classes.

No, my argument is that people who agree with a specific ideology are generally unaware of indoctrination relating to that specific ideology because it appears normal to them.

This makes sense. I would argue that someone who has advanced this far academically would possess the critical thinking abilities to determine whether or not a topic discussed in a class is related to the course itself or could be considered indoctrination.

The impression I'm getting is that students being exposed to ideas, theories or arguments that oppose the consensus here is being called indoctrination.

ETA: I apologize for including you in a generalization I made previously that apparently doesn't reflect your attitude.

Even when I taught in public schools, teachers were so focused on getting through the curriculum that there wasn't time for "indoctrination." The most indoctrination I did was harping on kids to pick up litter outside (even if it isn't yours!) and to be nice to each other.

I'm very curious about the kinds of schools that posters here went to if their teachers had the time to regularly go on political rants.

I would bet if you took a vote of Zoomers, they would support "re-educating" conservatives.

Can you give me an example of how math classes you've taken have been politicized?

Ok class, today we're going to learn about algebra. Shahzadi's two fathers love Disney World, and have taken Shahzadi a total of 12 times. If their friend, Kwame, only made six times and two fewer less trips, how many times did Kwame go?

*math occurs*

Correct. Unfortunately, Kwame went zero times. How many of you here have been to Disney World?

*half the class raises their hands*

Oh, no. Some people here have never been. Lets hear some of the reasons.

*some kids say their parents can't afford it*

Yeah, it's really unfair how some families can take their children to Disney world and other families can't. Alright, back to our totally non-political math class. Next, we're going to try and figure out how many more job applications Bernardo had to make before getting a job verses his neighbor Charles.

In June, Minneapolis Public Schools approved over $2 million worth of contracts for an elementary school math curriculum that would "contribute to an understanding of ethnic, racial and cultural diversity representative of the student demographics in MPS," according to a report from the Washington Free Beacon.

A couple of months prior, the Florida Department of Education purged several dozen math textbooks from its list of approved books on the grounds that they contained substantial racial or social justice content. The department initially pulled 54 books from use for review before later approving several of them.

You’re severely uninformed on the modern state of curriculum. Every discipline is affected.

What school did you teach?

Most time is classroom management.

Coops are becoming a thing here. They even hire a teacher, seems like a great gig.
