Merry Christmas, Friends.

Would appreciate your collective wisdom on our down the road bigs.

I don't see Liddle playing much lately with the Squad. Is he hurt again ? Do you think he can help us long-term ?

What about Marshall ? Any long-term promise with either he or Robbins ? I have to figure Robbins is a long shot now with all the injuries, but perhaps patience is warranted.

Appreciate any and all opinions.... and again, Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah.

Naji is valuable but isn't a big.

Liddell - provably more likely than not he'll never be a consistent Pels rotation player, barring something crazy like 3+ big men injuries.

I don't consider Naji a big man. We're in a weird spot where our cheap owner probably won't let us pay him as it would likely put us over the tax, but I'd love to keep him at the right price.

I'd say don't listen to people who are super tough on Naji. For the value of his current contract, he's been a homerun, just a great value and vastly outplayed not just his value but also out playing the 12th or so guy on the bench role we thought he'd be.

Robbins probably a long shot but I don't know much about him to give any opinions.

I hope they can trade with Chicago:

Drummond and Torrey Craig for

Liddell, Lewis and Pels 2024 pick top 2 protected.

Gets them under the cap and add some great vets.

We can’t give up a top 2 protected pick and only get Andre Drummond and Trey Craig back. That would be horrendous value.

You want to trade a 1st rounder for Andre Drummond and Torrey Craig? We need to take away your fake trade rights

And you really think our owner is “cheap”? I don’t think so, based on the evidence.

Now, Shinn, he was cheap because he was low on cash.

Sorry, Louisiana .... I meant Trey Marshall, of the Squadron, not Najeh.

All three of the bigs I mentioned are either currently or were with Birmingham. That's why I added the rejoinder 'down the road.'

Sorry, I should have been more specific.

Again, sorry Shel ... I meant Trey with the Squadron, not Najeh.

Having now clarified, my original question remains: What do you think of Trey Marshall, Liam Robbins, and EJ Liddel as potential post players down the road.

I know EJ has gotten a short look, and Robbins is well beyond injury prone, but he did block a lot of shots in college, and Trey is a double double machine, albeit in the G league. All are young enough to grow into something.

Thanks all !

I wouldn't count on any of them being much of anything.

Lidell isn't an NBA player imo

We've never paid the luxury tax...ever

We are a cheap team, any way you look at it.

So Gayle isn't low on cash, but still won't pay the luxury tax. That would make her actually cheap. Shinn was just "poor"

Thanks Ghost .... your opinion seems the most common.

I was actually high on EJ at Ohio State. Saw a lot of Draymond Green in him at similiar career stages, ie when Draymond was at Michigan State.

I know losing last year really set him back, but not clear on what's going on this year. I have reviewed several recent Squadron box scores and don't even see him listed with the DNPs.

The only confusing part about Liddell is why we gave him that contract extension. It's ultimately probably not a big deal but I don't really see any reason for giving him that deal unless we legit thought he was a keeper. And now he can't get minutes even in garbage time half the time, so did we think he was good then for whatever reason we've gone the complete opposite way on him? No clue

Great point Shel. I also thought we extended Steven Adams and Devonte Graham way too soon.

Also, I see now via a previous thread that he was on the Pelicans bench and just got sent down to Birmingham.

Last add on to my question...I forgot to include him in the original list, but what are our hopes for Karlo, the Draft and Stash Euro big ? Thought he was okay in SL, and is young enough to grow into a player, I believe.

Thoughts ? Thanks in advance.
