Hobby collectors of the OT - who are the worst group of collectors?

When I say hobby collectors, I’m talking sports cards, comics, toys, Hot Wheels, sports memorabilia, etc.
Which group is the worst?
I deal with many of the groups with my eBay, and use to collect sports cards, vintage toys, Hot Wheels, and LSU.
As a former Hot Wheel collector, I find these guys the worst (when it comes to modern Hot Wheels). They are obsessed with finding the latest and greatest release.

Most people don't collect a wide array of things so they won't get the cultures. Sports card collectors can be a bit odd but the scammers are the real poblem

White women who collect beanie babies.

My ex wife was apparently a semen collector, and she was pretty bad. That’s my vote.

They were the worst back in the late 90’s, but that is dead.

Bourbon nerds and wine snobs.

I collect vintage toys and those guys can smell the worst at their shows

Absolutely. Driving prices skyward so that they can keep full bottles on pretentious displays and post pictures on social media.

There are some insufferable vintage toy train collectors. One collector is from California and he pays absurd prices for stuff, then brags about how much he paid online.
There are also some great guys. Most of my train collector friends are Italians who live on the East Coast.

25 years ago, I was a store manager for Fred's. It was the Hot Wheels collectors. There was 2 of them and they would show up every time we got a freight truck wanting to go through the Hot Wheels boxes before we stocked them.
They were annoying. I would always tell them no so they would walk around and start asking my employees. They would really put the pressure on the teenagers.
Grown arse men obsessed over toys.

Board games. Not to the extent that some do (some acquire a thousand or more). My collection is around 175 and I haven’t purchased as many in recent years.

Just like clockwork, someone helps my point. I went to one of the collector train FB sites I administer, and there's a shite post. Some guy posted a picture of his 30's train, just the picture with FEF ("front end Friday"). Below, some guy posts about how certain parts look restored and that it is not fully original.
I think "nobody asked for an assessment of the item."

The only sub genre of collecting that I have experience with is rare coins.
Not too bad in general of folks. A few strongly Type A but generally not bad.
Obviously there is a wide range of morality, caveat emptor.

Any kind of car collector / motorsports enthusiast, but there's something about Ducatti motorcycles in particular that attracts the biggest douchetards on the planet. To a man, people who own those things act like this weird combination of 1) guy who just had his first three beers since graduating basic training; and 2) entitled fast food franchisee who fricks his employees.

Not all, but those few that like go around trying hard to impress you with their knowledge of what is “correct” and what should be done to “make it right”. I usually just say have a nice day and walk away.

Those who collect bodies in their crawlspaces.

Came here to say this. Bourbon neck beard losers are the worst. Why are they all so fat?

I will say that WWII Collectors and Militaria collectors are a great bunch of baws. They work together and just an all around good bunch.. BBQ and everything...
But the down side is the collection it self... So many fakes have hit the market. Prices are going through the roof on items.. Like German Helmets, uniforms etc.
Then you have kids that are inheriting all the things that Grandpa had in the attic. And instead of trying to keep items together that belong together, they are breaking these things up just for the money without care for the historical aspects of the items, or it's meanings or lessons.
